Los Artistas B & B
Ranked #10 of 26 Ajijic B&B and Inns
Reviewed 25 May 2008

I've stayed in two B & B's in Ajijic and Los Artistas was by far the most pleasent surroundings. The gardens with the water features provided a constant atmosphere of tranquility and the bird population through out the trees and gardens created a musical backdrop unlike any I have experienced before.

Stayed four nights at Los Artistas. Terrific hosts and staff - very helpful. Rooms are well maintained, nicely decorated, clean & quiet. Walled yard, with pool, is a beautiful, quiet place to relax. Great breakfast. Easy walking distance to restaurants and shops.

This is a really nice B & B....the garden is magical. Also the breakfasts were very delicious and because the guestsand the hosts were all so friendly that extra cup of coffee was great.

I would recommend this B & B for anyone who is looking for a comfortable get away in a lovely town and who wants a peaceful and interesting holiday.

Very nice accomodations right in the middle of Ajijic. Room was very clean and nicely decorated. Grounds are exceptional with a small pool and a very large and lush garden. Breakfasts are included and made-to-order by the cook, Socorro. By the way, the coffee is the best I've had in any hotel anywhere. Within easy walking distance of excellent restaurants and shopping. I couldn't recommend a B&B more highly. Finally, Los Artistas is handicap friendly - my wife is disabled - we had no problems with her wheelchair on the premises.

Thank You, Thank You, Thank you! Ken and Linda

Sorry that we missed seeing you directly, but our accommodations were perfecto! We loved our visit!

Jose and Sicorro provided for our every need and nourishment. Our room was clean, and daily made to our comfort. You have such a pleasant setting, close to bus lines and travel conveniences. The Jardin is beautiful! I exercised and swam in the pool every day! We both marveled over the flowers and the many nuances of culture and art tucked away in each little crevice and space. Can you tell, we loved our Ajijic experience! Jose’s referrals to local restaurants was totally correct! Thank you, Jose!

We could take the bus at a moments walk to all points.

We are coming back! Hope to meet you, as you have provided this wonderful place and experience.

John and Janet Tracy

Los Artistas B&B in the heart of Ajijic is a slice of paradise. The owners, Kent & Linda, are charming, helpful and gracious. The hacienda style 2-story home has 2 separate guest rooms on the ground floor, plus 3 more guest rooms in an adjacent casita and an additional guest room (the "studio") in another separate casita hidden away in the lush gardens. All guest rooms have their own private en-suite baths.

The rooms are decorated in colorful mexican motifs. You can't go wrong with any room you choose. The well-manicured grounds (thank you, Jose) are beautiful, lush and calming. A small lap pool is available for those who wish a refreshing dip.in the afternoon. Fountains provide a wonderful background music for relaxing siestas on the back patio.

Their full-time cook, Socorro, is wonderful. Breakfast on the sunny, glass-enclosed patio each morning ranges from fresh fruits & cereal to freshly made pancakes and cooked-to-order eggs.

While Los Artistas is a short walk to many excellent restaurants, shopping, the lake and the main plaza, the B&B is quiet & private. There is free wireless internet access available throughout the grounds of the B&B for those of you who have to be in touch with the office back home.

Kent & Linda can arrange, in advance, for a driver to meet your flight at Guadalajara airport and drive you to the front door of Los Artistas. The drive is a quick 25-30 minutes and costs around $35 U.S. (paid to the driver).

If you're looking for a charming, quiet, beautiful and affordable place to stay in the heart of Ajijic, this is it. We're already looking forward to our next visit.

Kent and Linda are warm and gracious hosts. They sit with their guests at breakfast and join the conversation, always ready to offer suggestions and share from their own experiences in the beautiful village of Ajijic and Mexico in general. They truly embrace the Latin American greeting "Estas en tu casa" (Make yourself at home). Our room was spacious, tastefully appointed, and brimming over with colorful tile and other artistic touches. The garden and pool are private, lush, and breathtaking. The staff are gracious and the breakfasts are delicious.
