My wife and I went to the DaMonica Cafe in Dolores Hildago today before heading out to explore the city. All in all, everything that each of us ordered was tasty and nicely displayed: Octopus soup, ravioli, lasagna, pasta with vegetables, homemade faccacia and other breads, chi tea, great assortment of Italian desserts and a lemon liquor to finish. The owner, chef and their daughter hail from Italy and have brought their homeland recipes and warm, welcoming character to share with the guests of their fine, well cared for restaurant.

Damonica uses quality ingredients to freshly prepare classic Italian pasta dishes and pizzas. Best place to eat in Dolores. A bit on the pricey side, but that may reflect the cost of ingredients.

This is the third year visiting Dolores Hildago and the first time eating delicious food - Italian or otherwise. Thanks to the reviews here, we went on the hunt for DaMonica Cafe and what a wonderful find. The restaurant is in a lovely, modern, fresh looking space. Our server was gracious, friendly and efficient. The four of us consumed a Caesar salad, a Caprese salad, gnocchi (2 different types), a large "medium" pizza and grilled shrimp. None of us were disappointed. All the dishes were delicious including the focaccia and dips which were brought to the table before our orders. The tapenade was particularly wonderful. We all talked about the fact that this restaurant on it's own was worth the trip from San Miguel due Allende. We will definitely be back. For those wanting to visit this wonderful cafe, you take the road on the right side of the church in the main square, go two blocks, turn right on Nayarit for almost two blocks to #67. Definitely worth the walk plus it gives you an excuse to eat more.
