We went back to Patzcuaro after several years and stayed at Yolihuani once again. It was as wonderful as we remembered it. Beautiful setting, great food, interesting events right there, and phenomenal hosts who helped with everything we needed. Patzcuaro is NOT dangerous despite the warnings - the southern part of Michoacan is what is to be avoided. There are wonderful things to do all around and you can even head to the monarch butterfly sanctuaries from there.

Room Tip: every room is different with great folk art from mexico and other parts of latin america

Patzcuaro is a very beautiful city, and this charming hotel is a quick walk to the town's centre. A beautiful, welcoming sanctuary, the owners not only speak Spanish and English but French as well. The rooms are decorated with local art and crafts. And much to my northern surprise, the gardens included a grapefruit tree and an avocado tree. A wonderful spot to stay in the beautiful colonial town!

So charming, with balconies, large clean rooms and beautiful bathrooms. Right outside our balcony is an avocado tree. Eric tends the beautiful garden.
Drinking water available in the veranda outside your room.
Eric and Vicky are gracious and welcoming hosts.
Very romantic setting!

If you're planning a trip to Patzcuaro, Mexico, I highly reccomend Posada Yolihuani. We spent six nights here and all our needs were seen to. We found ourselves without a place to stay the night before our arrival in Patzcuaro, and the owners, Eric ad Vicki were available at 10 pm to assure us that we could stay at their bed and breakfast for the next 6 nights. All our needs were taken care of. Yolihuani has a welcome and peaceful atmosphere. There is a relaxing outdoor area that we took advantage of. Breakfast was perfect for our needs. Vicki and Eric are trilingual speaking Spanish, French and English.

Extremely accommodating and helpful owners that speak English. Nice, clean, spacious rooms. Walking distance from the town. Lovely courtyard around an avocado tree. Prices were very reasonable. We would be happy to go back and stay there.
