Campestre Aleman is also a trout farm so that's what I always order. Filleted and covered with garlic. PERFECT.
However, my brother lived in Germany for many years and says their German dishes are as good as anywhere there. Their sausage and sauerkraut is delicious.
Beautiful setting!

If you want to go to a restaurant wich serves German food: Don't go there!
The restaurant itsef is hard to find. We went by car to several directions outside of Pascauro up to km 14 (this is the only information we found on TripAdvisor!). You have to drive from Patzcuaro around the lake passing Huecorio, San Pedro, Tócuaro, Arocutin, San Francisco Uricho and than at km 14 you will find the restaurant.
It is open daily from 1 pm to 7 pm. They have a big garden and you can sit outsite beside a smal lake with a lot of fishes. Nice.
But the food!:
- "Queso Gauda Ahumado": This has not been even a Mexican "queso tipo gauda". This cheese had nothing do do with a Gauda cheese, it has been some sort of regional fresh cheese.
- "Chamorro Alaman": In German it is called: "Eisbein mit Sauerkraut", special German dish with part of a porc leg. The meat has been ok, the dark brown sauce undefinable not made from this meat, the roasted patatoes swam in this sauce. The Sauerkraut has been terrible!
Further on our family ordered "Gulash de Res", what had nothing to do with a German or even a Ungarian Gulasch and fish, what has been quite ok.

The restaurant is 15 minutes driving from Patzcuaro, Mich, Mexico. The food is excellent, you may have fish (trout) or steaks. It has some german food, too. Besides the good food, the restaurant has a relaxing atmosphere, with a small pond and trees, perfect for walking after eating and sitting to relax. It is not expensive, around 12-16 dollars for a main dish and drinks.

Once again, we were driving from Guadalajara to Patzcuaro and stopped for comida about 2pm. We were the only guests and our order arrived promptly and was exactly as we expected. Trout cooked in butter and pork shank perfectly prepared. The grounds continue to be well kept and they had made some improvements in the eating areas. A great and worthwhile Compestre Restaurant.

6 of us stopped there based on Trip Advisor reviews. While the setting was very pretty and the waitstaff doing the best they could, the general consensus was that the food was just ok and it took over an hour to get our food. If they had been busy we would have understood, but this was at 2:00 in the afternoon and we were the only ones there.
