“Impresive!!”

Don't leave Mexico without visiting the pyramids at Teotihuacan. I was very impressed of the architectures and design of the pyramides and the city, way ahead of their times. Visit early morning and wear hat and tennis shoes. The Sun Pyramid has very tall and narrow steps so be sure to ask your tour guide or local host about the best way to go up and down. I saw a teenager fall down a couple of steps and had several injuries. If you forget your hat, at the entrance you will find several local craft stores that sell you one at a very low price. Entrance fee is around US$10

“Excellent”

This is one of the best ancient Mayan cities we visited in central America. It was incredibly well preserved. You can climb to the top of these pyramids too - not an easy feat in that altitude and heat! But worth it. It is around an hour from Mexico city on the bus. Find out from your hotel about how to get there and back or if there is any tours. Also the bus trip there is a great eye-opener into the sheer size of the city. It was fascinating.

“Highlight of a trip to Mexico City”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 June 2014

One of my all time favorite sights to visit near Mexico City. I chose one of the many tour groups for the transportation. What I suggest is take a look at some of the shows online about Teotihuacan before going. It makes it even more enjoyable. There are exciting discoveries beyond the pyramids themselves like ancient stucco paintings and apartments.

The climb is not for the weak, with the elevation and potential heat and pollution expect to be out of breath even if you are in shape but I just LOVED this place.

“Ruins like no other!”

This place is so special, it will just blow your mind. We did a private tour through adventure hunters mexico which included a private hot air balloon ride during sunrise (they don't have a trip advisor account yet but trust me, they are AMAZING, http://adventurehuntersmexico.com/) Julia was our guide, she has such pasion for this site and the details behind it that I learnt more than I ever would have in a generic group tour. A++ for the whole site.

Get there early as the sun is harsh and the pyramids take a lot of energy out of you, but worth the climb none the less! You will enjoy every breath taking minute!
