First time at this property but definitely won't be the last. The level of service is excellent. Friendly staff who is always helpful. The property is gorgeous, understated & in top shape. Service by the pools was excellent & the weather "divine". Best beach vacation in a long time.

We now pick our destinations based on locations of Four Seasons resorts. This was our 5th year to take family away from cold for presidents week in February. Three times at FS Papagallo in CR, Nevis last year and just got back from Punta Mita.
The facility was top notch as expected. Our garden view premium suite was the best room we've had. It was about 1200 square feet, 2 bathrooms, large dining room with table. pullout couch and rollaway for the 3 kids. Patio had a hammock and plunge pool. It was not ocean view but was nice to have area private with trees.
The weather was perfect, not too hot mid 80s, nights cool high 60s. The beach and views of the ocean were outstanding. Tops the beach at Nevis and CR.
The downside was the service. There was a convention so that may have contributed but definitely below standards for any four seasons. There was a meal we had to ask for items we ordered multiple times. The other annoying thing was they wouldn't bring check until I asked for it so I found myself sitting solo while my family headed out to the beach. Other four seasons seem to have this down to anticipate finishing. The food at Ketsi was nothing special. Unfortunately, it was the only restaurant to get lunch at. We did a "Italian night" buffet at Ketsi which was not very good and I would not recommend, especially for the price. Bahia, another restaurant, was excellent. Food and service. Overall very limited wine list. It forces you to drink mexican wine. I recommend bringing your own. Actually the best meal we had was off resort but within punta mita gates called Sufi.
The kids for all seasons was very nice. It definitely catered to the 6 and under crowd so my kids didn't utilize. They did love the game room/movie theater for 8 and over crowd. It was located between beach and pool so perfect for kids to go on own while we were at pool. It is well supervised.
As far as excursions, we did the dolphin experience in nueva vallarta and we loved it. We did go into town in punta mita one evening and ate at Si Señor. the food was good but the area was filthy with peddlers constantly nagging you.
Overall, I would definitely go back for the great views, facilities, and weather but keep your service expectations low, especially if you've been to FS Papagallo.

Room Tip: Views are fantastic but I must say for the same price as an ocean view suite, the garden view premiu...

This was our third visit to the Four Seasons Punta Mita and, like our first two visits, it was a truly exceptional experience - exactly what you would expect from a Four Seasons. The level of service could not be any better - you will lose track of the number of times a staff member will say to you "It is my pleasure..." and based on how well they treat you, I believe that it truly is their pleasure to make everything about your stay there as perfect as possible. During our past visits the only thing that we would have said could have been a bit better was the food, but happy to report that the quality and selections of food have improved significantly both at the pool and at their restaurants. We now plan to make at least one annual visit to the Four Seasons Punta Mita as we cannot imagine having a better experience anywhere else!

I cannot say enough about this place...my husband and I were just there and it was absolutely gorgeous. From the second you walk into the Four Seasons you are treated like royalty. Anything we needed they didn't hesitate to accommodate us.
Our room was beautiful and it had an amazing view of the ocean...the beach and both pools were amazing also. The view from the infinity pool is just breath taking! The ocean water is turquoise and perfect!
We had a cabana at the adult pool one day and that was a blast!!
The food was delicious also! Def try the guacamole if you are sitting on the beach or pool side.
The shots of tequila that they give are HUGE...they are like double shots =) =)
The spa was beautiful...we both got Swedish massages and they were great!!
Every time any staff member would pass by they ALWAYS said hello...anyone that says otherwise is lying...the staff here are friendly and absolutely amazing!!!
We would come back here in a heartbeat not only for the amazing weather, beach and pools but also for the amazing staff ....whoever is training these people know what they are doing!!! A+++++

Room Tip: Get an ocean view....its beautiful!

In the 36 hours leading up to this trip, we endured a Nor'easter, an itinerary change for 10 people, and an expired passport 18 hours before take off (Mexico requires having 6 months remaining until expiration). The airline (United), the Four Seasons, and the US government (passport office on Hudson St in NYC) all get 5 stars. To make it all worth it, the FS really needed to deliver..and boy did they. If you have to swim the Rio Grande to get here…do it!

I'll give you what I like to call TIPS & TIDBITS:

*The hotel is quite large and if you are in the farthest villa, it could be an 8-10 minute walk to the pool/ beach/lobby. The staff will take you in a golf cart, but if you like to be closer, I would request that in advance. Among the closest are: Flor, Mariposa, Rana, Palma and Iguana. We stayed in Oasis which is a 5 minute walk and closest to the lazy river. The map is available online.

*Arrange for the FS transportation to/from the hotel. It is $220USD RT regardless of # of people. The SUV holds up to 7. It is only slightly more expensive than taking a cab from the airport. The ride is almost 1 hour and the airport taxis have no A/C.

*Make sure you get an activities schedule each day. Free activities include yoga & pilates (on a cliff overlooking the ocean), hiking, star gazing, Spanish lessons, tequila & chocolate classes and kayak fishing to name a few.

*The staff is the most welcoming I have ever encountered (that includes other FS). Each staff member appeared genuinely happy to see us and used our names whenever possible. Special mention to Yinty, Juan Luis and Erik at the pool, Karina at reception and our lovely yoga instructor (I was so relaxed I forgot her name).

*The property is quite large and beautifully maintained. Beach chairs are plentiful at both pools as well as the beach. You are asked upon arrival to choose your chairs for the duration of the stay…which takes the worry out of what could be a stressful process. Even though the hotel was full…chairs remained free all week.

*The hotel has 3 restaurants: 2 seafood/Mexican flair and 1 Asian. The Asian was our favorite. Order the amaretto soufflé for desert!

*The rooms are large with generous outdoor space.

*Last, but perhaps most important to mention is the town of Punta Mita. It is located right outside the gates to the Punta Mita property (which includes the FS and the St Regis). It is a poor town and the juxtaposition between the hotels and the surrounding area is striking. Before leaving NY, we hooked up with a nonprofit called Fundacion Punta de Mita. They arranged for myself, my husband a 2 teens to visit a school 5 minutes from the hotel. We brought a suitcase full of school supplies and lacrosse sticks for the kids. It was such an easy and small gesture on our part and it was so well received. You rarely see such gratitude. The interaction with the kids was so moving and my family will never forget it. The visit took 3 hours of our time and the memories will never leave us. I wouldn't trade it for all the sun, sand or service in the world. Please send me a note if you'd like more info.

Well...get going…you've got a trip to book!

Happy travels!

From greeting at airport to check-in at hotel flawless. Room ready at 3pm perfect. By 3:30 all staff know the kids name and so appreciative of your business. Rooms are large we have suite with plunge pool fantastic for watching sunsets. Food choices plenty from Mexican to American. Very accommodating if you can describe your choice chefs will make. Pools just beautiful and always plenty of seats no waking at 6am for a lounge chair. Beaches two of them one quiet one family with plenty of activities. Again seats always available. Resort is enclosed in large gated community. Always felt safe and security seemed present but not over overwhelming. Swim able beaches, lazy river pool, adult pool and family pool. Plenty for all. Took in spa just ok nothing over the top but great treatment none the less. Very relaxing week. Played golf, deep seas fishing played in pool and on beach with kids. Great family destination or romantic for folks just stay at adult only areas. Def on our list to return.

The property is so beautifully set on the oceanfront, so many incredible views, especially at sunset. You can see whales by day, you can even do yoga on the rock in the morning. One of the restaurants overlooks the sunset. The pools are gorgeous and if you don't want to be around kids, there is a magnificent pool that feels really private, actually a couple of pools. Cabanas are available to rent with big screen tv's and privacy. The fitness center is really first rate. All set in surroundings that lead from one beautiful view to another. The spa is very lovely as well. We stayed in 923 which was a lovely room with a view of the ocean and away from the busier parts of the resort. The Roberta is rather sprawling and somewhat hilly so this may be a challenge for some. However, there are many carts that are available to take people from here to there and so very accommodating. The people who work here in the hotel are so kind and gracious and eager to please. The rooms also have a dehumidifier in them so you don't have to turn the air conditioning way down to prevent humidity from building in the room. Snorkeling and whale watching and fishing and kayaking are all available just out in front of the resort. The grounds are meticulously maintained. It's really beautiful.

Room Tip: As I said we stayed in 923, which is had an ocean view, some rooms do not and some are close to the...
