“The "wonderful little" beachfront spot that we were looking for!”
Reviewed 30 May 2014

Staying in Puerto Aventuras, we wanted the perfect stylish restaurant on the water for a day trip to Akumal. We weren't disappointed. I wish the menu was broader, but the food we ordered was delicious. Shrimp tacos were the best. Fried fish was a little under-seasoned. Tuna tostadas were excellent. Atmo felt like Mexicanized South Beach place, all whitewashed with an intimate, breezy indoor/outdoor seating area. You can choose to sit in the shade or sun and still enjoy the view. There's better food in Akumal, but the food here is more than adequate and the casual-chic setting is extremely special.

“Good place for a romantic evening”
Reviewed 29 May 2014

This was an excellent place to share a romantic dinner with my spouse. The food was excellent, and with it I had a Sauvignon Blanc that I'm hoping to find in a wine warehouse at home, it was so good. We sat at a table for two on the beach and enjoyed being pampered by the attentive staff.

“Fantastic food & picturesque views”
Reviewed 25 May 2014 via mobile

This place was excellent! The outdoor dining area was perched along the turquoise waters and offered gentle breezes. We had the mango margaritas rimmed with chili pepper. Sounded odd but worth the risk...they were delicious! The cerviche was super fresh and served with homemade chips and a fresh habenero sauce...very good. Lunch was fresh shrimp tacos which were cooked perfectly. Dessert was some of the best flan I've ever tasted. The service was top notch too. This place is a must for anyone in the area.

“So mad we didn't discover it sooner!”

The seafood paella was divine. This was easily the best food we had in Akumal. It has a nice ambiance, very relaxing. Plus it's gorgeous!

“Probably our best dining experience in Akumal”
Reviewed 13 May 2014

This little restaurant on the north end of Akumal is a real winner. The atmosphere is delightful, the service fast (but not TOO fast) and cordial and the food is outstanding. There were seven of us and everyone was pleased with their entrees. I had the ceviche which was fresh, tasty and not too lemony. I think we had about 5 orders of guacamole which speaks for itself.

La Lunita is a bit out of the way from the hustle and bustle of Akumal beach, but it's well worth checking out and I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
