First let me start by saying Teresa was a great host! I would say we were pretty high maintenance since we've been to Mexico before but had never stayed in a condo setting and I was traveling with 2 kids, 9 and 12. My main concern was the food situation and getting around since we were not planning on renting a car. She was very helpful and responsive! She also checked in on us while we were there.
When we arrived after a VERY long travel day, the condo was a site for sore eyes. There was spa music playing on the TV--very Tao-esque! the condo honestly had everything we could need and the beds were super comfy! We used the grocery delivery and then bought an all-inclusive pass to Coba one of the days. Took a cab to Akumla Beach one day which is incredible. We also went to Xel-Ha which includes all food with admission as well. We did a pretty good job of balancing that with eating in. I didn't want to cook and clean up all week!
Getting around the resort is easy once you know what to do and you plan a little. The pool within Tao was a great resource for us with the littles. I did yoga 2x at the wellness center and the classes were amazing. We also really enjoyed a few meals at the wellness center. A major bonus when we were running out of food and options! I think the one area where we felt we kept running in to a little obstacle was timing our day at the resort (you have full access to 2 but S'ian Kann is adults only so we mainly went to Tulum). The trolley back to Tao ends at 4:30 and it can be 20-30 min from Tao to Tulum resort one way. What we did was just go early then pack snacks and water then eat a late lunch/early dinner at the condo or wellness center (food ends at 3pm here). The rest of the day we'd chill then go to the Tao pool. Another option would be to just grab a cab back to the condo if you want to stay at the resort late. We lucked out and asked someone at S'ian Kann if they could drive us back and they were super acommodating (tip them!!!)! I'd advise as well to check on Wellness Center open/close times as well as trolley run times and class times. There was some conflicting info in the book at the condo as I'm sure these change all the time, so I just snapped a picture of the info on the desk at the Wellness Center and referred back to those
FYI this was the first time I ever rented a condo and did not know in this case that toilet paper and garbage bags were not provided past what was already there. We contacted the concierge and he was nice enough to bring us some more as well as garbage bags which was super nice. Pantry spices are also a little limiting so plan to either buy or cook simply (I didn't check this before our grocery shop)
Considering where the location is, a quick stop at a store would involve taking a cab unless you have rented a car. In retrospect if we did this type of stay again, I'd consider renting a car. Altho you can get by without it if you plan. It just took us a couple of days to work it all out and get our act together.
If you do not rent a car, my advice would be to make your first stop to the golf club house to receive your bracelets because you cannot get around without these and the club house is not that close to the condo.
There is so much to do and see in this area so now that we've dipped our toe in the water with family staying in this type of accommodation (as opposed to all inclusive), I would say it would be easy to rent a car or I'd be more adventurous to take taxi/collectivo
Overall a great stay! Thanks Teresa!
For the past 2 years , I've been working on a project down in tulum , so I chose TAO condominiums for their proximity, security, natural JUNGLE setting , swimming pools , resturant and natural trails , I've rented at least 9 different condos but by far this condo was one of the better ones , it's well equipped with HD smart tv's , very comfortable beds , washer , dreyer and a well equipped kitchen loaded with everything you need and a good cork screw .
Teresa is a great owner & esay to communicate with .
I will definitely be renting this place again
Westchester county NY .
Teresa is the owner of this unit in Tao Mei G6.
We really liked all of our attention and fast answers, with clear and precise information, which was very helpful since it is our first time in Mexico.
Me and my family found the unit beautiful and clean and with all the necessities to cook and enjoy our holidays, also the staff speaks English and Spanish , which helped a lot
Manuel received us and he kept us up to date when things were happening and how we could stay involved. He has always had a smile on his face. His employment at this resort really topped off the entire experience for my family and I.
We would definitely recommend this place "Tao MEI G6 / Bahia Principe) and hope to return soon.
Tao is a family place, beautiful, and quiet.
We have stayed in this condo twice and hope to stay many more times. The condo is gorgeous and everything in it is super nice, new and clean. It's located in the Tao community in Bahia Principe and is walking distance to the beach and other BP resorts. There is an infinity pool right next to the condo that overlooks the golf course, it's very awesome. We love getting breakfast at the wellness center and relaxing with some wine or cervezas on the porch in the evening :) It comes with cable and wifi although it's hard to stay inside when you're surrounded by beautiful scenery. Every time we come stay at Tao we seriously consider changing our flights so we can hang out even longer. We definitely recommend this place for a relaxing vacation.
