Yal Ku lagoon is a place located in Akumal, so we had the chance to do an amazing combination of activites on our day excursion. We left from Playa del Carmen to visit “Cenote Azul” then we head off to Akumal where we did snorkeling at the bay and saw more than 10 turtles, after that we discovered “Yal-ku”, where the price is very reasonable, toilets are in good conditions and the lagoon is just amazing. Is always better when you bring your own snorkel equipment otherwise you have to rent it on a more expensive price. There are lots and lots of fishes, some times of the year there are more than others but you can always see marine life over there. If you are not familiar with snorkeling activity you have to be more careful, the beauty of this place is natural so you have to keep yourself away of touching anything, but please, ANYTHING when you swim and snorkel at the lagoon. I have one of my favorites memories when I was snorkeling at the lagoon and I could hear how the parrot fishes were biting and eating from the reef. There are some areas with tables and also a restaurant where people can just chill out too. It’s very interesting the art sculptures that you can find at the place.
