A first class holiday, fantastic food throughout with great variation, and extremely hard working staff who are very pleasant indeed. Beware of the omelette chef in Le Hacienda; very serious lady indeed! Also, can you spot the unhappy sole in the Colonial Lobby reception; please ignore. The odd very loud American who attempted to bully the staff into submission on a couple of occasions proved disruptive, and several overly loud groups in general and in similar ways. However, it was really refreshing to see large groups of (American) teenagers so very well behaved (Brits may learn thing or two here). I’m British myself before the replies come in. Spa is lovely and very good value for money; treatments are great too. Pillows in rooms are hard and huge; a small issue but if you’re specific in your requirements here, it may be worth a consideration upon arrival. We got married and the day was brilliant and all went to plan. However, the pre wedding meeting was missed as they forgot to post us the letter; this caused much stress leading up to the day and was the only poor service we received throughout. The beach and pools are special, varied and accommodate everyone’s particular needs. In short, go here, it’s marvellous and if you fail to enjoy yourself, I’ll be somewhat surprised. We’ll look to travel with this company again (Grand Palladium that is, and Thompson)!

we have just returned from the colonial. It was our second visit and generally didnt disapoint. We stayed in villa 20. The rooms there are ready for a revamp however it was clean and comfortable the mini fridge was restocked daily the beds were comfortable. The new kids pool at the colonial is briliant and our little one was in there most of the day. the buffets restaurants were on the ball when it came to drinks being ordered and plates been cleared. The waiters were much quicker at setting extra places at the table. I could see an improvement from last year. The a la carte were good with a prompt service and again extra place settings were sorted quickly. The beach bar staff work very hard and clear the queues quickly. We had much less difficulty getting lifts in the golf carts than last year. The resort is huge but i do recommend it the grounds are very well kept and the wild life great fun to watch. i felt as if the hotel was trying very hard to improve in all areas with service. To be honest I find it very difficult to imagine we would find another hotel to match the quality across the board. So there is every chance that we will return again next year. Which is unheard of for our family. We have never returned to the same hotel before once never mind twice.
Many many thanks to the hotel and staff for all the hard work and effort you put in to make holidays so special

Have just returned from two weeks with three generation family. Our second visit to Grand Palladium and our sixth to Yucatan region. We thought the whole experience was fantastic , location, facilities, food, service. The quality of All Inclusive is higher in Mexico than most of Europe and the Grand Palladium is as good as it gets. Having read other reviews, what some visitors disliked , we found really positive

We liked the aspect of just four hotels within a private resort of probably 120 acres of forest/jungle and an exclusive beach of I/2 mile long.
There are 70 blocks of 36 rooms on three floors , so no elevators
None of the private roads have cars( only electric buggies to provide shuttle service).
Most of the walking between Reception, Pools and Beach are through covered walkways, and paths through the jungle..... an enjoyable experience and never a problem , even with two kids
The Kantenah and Colonial are most convenient to all facilities but bars, pools and restaurants will be more crowded
White Sands and Riviera have more walking but no reserving of loungers required around the pool .....always available either in shade or full sun
Beautiful soft white sand on beach flanked by Palm trees for shade, however , the sea nearest Riviera does have rocks in the sea , great for snorkelling, but a sea water pool is also provided. We sat in one area and swam in the other, and maybe had to walk 150 yds
No reservations required in a la carte restaurants , and not a problem, as we were early eaters. We found the food in buffet restaurants to be equal to that of the speciality ones and as long as we forced ourselves to take time between courses, were probably the best option.
House wine ( white, red and sparkling) were good and the paid for options not significantly higher quality for an extra 40 dollars
We were early risers and early to bed and no rowdiness during the night even though there would be youngsters still drinking in the beach bar when I went for my dawn run......Young and old shared the resort really well.
Highly recommended.

We are currently staying at this hotel as part of a group of 24 for a wedding.
Resort itself is amazing! Staff are constantly cleaning. Pools, restaurants, walkways etc are all spotless! Staff are on the whole always friendly and can't do enough for you. Hotel is right on the beach and the setting is absolutely beautiful! Great choice of food at the buffet and restaurants.
The wedding itself was out of this world!! My sister got married at the garden gazebo
and it was beautiful! I think this was a good choice as it was much more private than the beach gazebo and the photos of the chapel in the background are lovely plus photos were taken on the beach afterwards anyway. All of the staff on the day had gone above and beyond all of our expectations! We had canopes at the sports bar after the ceremony and the mariachis playing in the background. The meal and setting at the portoifino restaurant was incredible. The table was set and decorated beautifully. The setting at the la Rocas bar for the evening celebration was stunning and topped off a fabulous day!
A special mention to Nidia the wedding coordinator who was there the entire day and is a credit to the hotel and the wedding department! She was always on hand in the week before the wedding to answer any queries. Thankyou Nidia for making the day so special together with all the staff from waiters and bell boys on the day who were fantastic!

The only issue I have is with guest services who are completely unaccomodating and seem to go out of there way to be awkward which is a shame as the rest of the holiday and staff are fabulous! On 3 occasions we have gone to guest services and queued before 8am to ask for a table for dinner for our whole party to sit together at the Japanese. We wanted one nice meal as a group and on each occasion there are no tables even if we ask to sit separately to be in the restaurant together. Seems ridiculous when you are first in the queue and a lot of money has been spent between the group! You can only book 2 of the restaurants the day before from
8am so how there are no tables when you are first in the queue at that time is beyond me! It took an hour and 1/2 of our holiday debating with the guest services staff yesterday to finally get a table all together albeit in a different restaurant! This issue really needs addressing as when you are sat in the
restaurants they are half empty!!

We have a week left here so hopefully we will get to eat at the Japanese at some point!

Overall apart from guest services the hotel, location and staff are fantastic and I would recommend this hotel especially if anyone is planning a wedding here!

Greetings LKTD,

Thank you for taking the time to share details of your vacation experience with us.
We are indeed delighted that you and your family had a wonderful wedding experience with us.
We will defiitely inform Nidia of your gracious comments.
We do extend our apologies that you have had some issues with reservations in our Japanese restuarant. We would like to advise you that our Teppanyaki tables can only accommodate a maximum of ten persons. As it is one of the most popular restaurants in the resort, it is also usually the first to be fully booked within a very short space of time.
Nevertheless, as you will be with us for another couple of days, we would like to invite you to visit our Guest Services or Reception desks between 8:30am-6pm and ask for Celia -Food and Beverage Director or Armando - Maitre D so that we can assist you in making arrangements for the group as best as possible regarding the dinner at the Japanese restuarant before your departure.
We do appreciate your feedback as this will help us to ensure that you will have a great vacation us.
We look forward to meeting with you.

We booked triple rooms (suits with extra sofa bed) and ended up in double bed rooms and our friend got to sleep on the floor the whole week. The staff in the reception didn't show any empathy whatsoever and we didn't even receive and apology when our booking contract clearly says "triple rooms". This is the same case with all our seven rooms that we booked.
Also room key issues caused a lot of problems. Running between the reception and room at least 7 times. Also the staff at the restaurants that need booking are very inflexible and rude.
The rest of the staff were awesome.

We went for a 70 person wedding in march 2014. I ended up booking a suite , which was amazing , but the lamps had mould and I had 100000 little ants and a few cockroaches . I called the front desk twice to say something about the ants .. An hour later the guys came and sprayed and left everything soaking wet with bug killer .. Then the ants would still be back the next day . I always hung my bathing suits in the shower , and on the last day I went to pack and I had 5000 ants in one of my bathing suits .. Gross . Front desk had no comments or apologies . I have to say though , the bottom floor outdoor showers were amazing . The resort was nice but I didn't like how slow the service was. Always took 20 mins to get any drinks - for the wedding we had zero guidance from the hotel .. No one ever knew what was going on.. Then they would get mad when 70 people started to wander . Not very organized at all .. Considering this resort is almost 2000 a person , when we spend 140k on a week long trip , we should be treated like royalty. The zentropia spa was the only part of the hotel I found incredible . The massage alone was well worth the 130 dollars , and the facility is beautiful. When I checked out , I obviously had to pay my spa bill - yet he said their credit card machine didn't work sometimes . So disorganized. How does a thousands of people resort not have working credit card machines ?? . I don't think I would be staying here again.
