A lovely welcoming place, with delicious food and perfect surroundings. From the pool to the flower petals around the tub this is perfect down to every last detail.
Staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgable. Louis checked in with us every day to make sure we had everything we could want and arrange any request we dreamed up. Caving - he find you a safe guide. History - meet George, he is the best. Local culture - come and have an authentic Mayan meal, cooing lesson or language lesson.

We spent one night there, on the eve of our visit to Uxmal.
The welcome was great, we were showed to our room in not time, and a cocktail was brought to our room a few minutes later ! Nice reception !
The hotel feels like it is in the heart of the jungle, it has a special feeling. Our room as great, very romantic.
We enjoyed the pool, even though there was a bit of ran that day, it was no biggie, we had great rest time in one of the beautiful pools.
We had dinner in the restaurant of the hotel, and it was great too, we di dnot regret it one bit. I chose the salmon and my husband the arrachera, and we both appreciated our meal.
At night, we went on foot to the Uxmal show, great opportunity.
The breakfast the following morning was also good.
If you come here, you will definitely not regret that choice !

Excellent location in the middle of archeological sights of the Maya ruta puuc. Our favorite activity was the traditional Maya breakfast experience using local ingrediants and Maya cooking techniques. Fun and educational!

The location is good, right next to the archaeological site, but the hotel is over priced relative to other facilities.

It was particularly galling to pay over $200 for the room only to be charged $3 a bottle for drinking water.

The hotel is somewhat overly oriented to what they perceive to be the tastes and expectations of US clients and, as such, could be any "tropical" hotel anywhere in the world.

A bit of a shame when such a rich cultural legacy is literally across the road.

Large cockroach in the room was a bit of a disappointment.

200 visitors that posted reviews before you disagree with you ! They give us 4.5 stars (of a Max of 5) for value; you gave us 1... You state that we are somewhat oriented to the american clientele, in an indirect, somewhat denigrating manner. We love americans, as we do educated clients from all over the world, a fact evidenced by what you read on Tripadvisor. The design an ambiance of our Lodge is genuinely Yucatecan, as applauded by the overwhelming majority of our guests.

The Lodge is hand made. The maintenance of our palapa roofs is most expensive. Hand maintained yearly. But that is the material the Maya used over a millennia ago. Sustainable as well. We strive to give our guests the feel of their dwellings as they come to know their sacred city, Uxmal.
So, in our view, our prices are more than reasonable. Yours is a very sad comment.

I brought a group to the Lodge back in November 2013 and we had an amazing time (it's taken me a while to post)! First I have to say that due to confusion on my part there was a mix up with the rooms. Marina Ortiz, my liaison, immediately did everything in her power to fix the situation which was not her fault - but mine.

My mistake could have had a negative impact on the trip, but her willingness to jump in and take action was amazing. I could not have asked for better customer service.

Besides all that, the food was wonderful, everyone on staff delightful, rooms clean and lovely - I don't know what else to say other than I am extremely grateful for my experience. And to be right across the street from one of the most beautiful ruins is a really special gift.

I want to say a personal thank you to Marina in group sales and reservations. I hope the management knows what a gift they have in her. :)

My family, who are living a good portion of this summer in Merida, and I on my visit to see them there this week, had the great pleasure of spending a night at the Lodge at Uxmal. What a fantastic property! Everything from check in, with a welcome cocktail, to departure was first rate. The room was very comfortable and immaculately clean. The little extra touches were noticed and appreciated. The pools were lovely and a welcome relief from the Yucatan heat. Dinner in the restaurant was a delight as was the very unique and deliciously enjoyable traditional Mayan breakfast the next morning. The service provided by everyone was truly outstanding. A huge thank you to Luis Felipe who acts as the concierge/guest services director. He is the model of great service and is a real attribute to the resort. Also, his arrangement for us of ruins tour guide Jorge was greatly appreciated. Some maintenance was taking place, but nothing which disturbed our stay and only shows the commitment of the owners to keep the facility in tip top shape. The proximity to the ruins is almost unbelievable. We could have easily stayed for several days and used this beautiful resort as a place to just to get away from it all. Well done!

Luis Felipe and all of us at The Lodge at Uxmal thank you for your visit and your GREAT comments.

We hope that, since your family is spending some time in nearby Merida, you'll come and visit us for a few days. There are beautiful, interesting Maya villages all around us. The world class caves of Loltun are but minutes near us, as are the Puuc Region's fabulous temples and Convents.

We look forward to having the honor of serving you again soon. Hasta la vista !

Before touring Uxmal temple site we had a rest stop and meal at this lodge. The grounds are lovely with some attention to good ecological practice. Shops include items that are really Mexican, including hand embroideries, and in general a cut above usual. The noon meal was excellent with wide range of choices, including vegan, and despite the upscale ambience also "all you can eat". Service was outstanding and the location under massive thatch roof pleasantly open.
