“Great hostel at a fair price!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 October 2013

The highlight of this hostel is their garden, it's like being in the jungle. You can enjoy the comfort of great hammocks in a more private area at the very back of the garden. The breakfast is really good and plentiful with: toast, ham, fresh fruit, cereal, granola with fruit and yogurt. The location is great in the center of town, you're close to the Cenotes and an hour drive from the ruins of Chichen Itza. I would recommend this hostel.

I really loved this hostel... The beautiful gardens, the funky Mexican decor throughout, the friendly staff, nice vibe & great breakfast! I stayed in a private room up the top with a shared bathroom (you only share with one other room) & the bathrooms are partly outside, I found it lovely showering in the sunshine :) & stopping to look at the stars before bed! There's free internet & computers to use & you can hire bikes for fairly cheap to get around town & explore the many cenotes & things. Staff are always available to answer questions & point you in the right direction! And everything is close! I highly recommend this hostel, particularly if you plan to visit Chichen Itza & surrounding ruins as it's a great base in an authentic Mexican town from which to adventure out from...

We loved our stay at this hostel and wished we could have stayed in Valladolid longer. We were here for 2 nights and booked a private room. I was soooo impressed by how clean the place was - we were there in the middle of the summer - no bugs, dust or dirt in the room or toilet/shower. I loved the feel of the place with lots of overgrown trees - had a bit of a rainforest feel to it.

Breakfast was simple, but this is a hostel, so something is better than nothing. I enjoyed chilling out in the hammock area.

This hostel is in a great location - easy to walk anywhere in the town and pretty close to the bus station. The staff were friendly and helpful in making suggestions around town. I'd definitely stay here again if I returned to Valladolid.

Room Tip: Book a private room - you get the cheap cost of hostel accommodation without having to share with st...

What the title says, a dutch guy settled down in Valladolid after travelling for some time. And you will notice that the hostel is set up by someone who knows what travelling is about and what travellers are looking for in a hostel...

Communal areas are really (and I mean really) nice, stayed in a lot of hostels over the past year of travelling but this was without guestions the best!! Behind the hostel is a big long stretched garden with in the middle an outdoor kitchen with roof and tables. Kitchen is really well equipped, and organised! There is another kitchen inside, didn't us it. All the way in the back of the garden is a spot you can hang out in hammocks, don't forget some mosquito repellent as there are plenty here (thanks to the beatiful garden). In the front of the garden is another space with tables. Oportunities to do your own laundry if you wish.

Stayed in the mixed dorm, was what you can expect from a dorm, I use it to sleep so as long as the beds are fine it's ok with me. They have multiple ventilators and it was perfectly fine for me.

Staff is really friendly and helpfull. Hostel is resourceful with guidebooks, maps etc. etc. Computer with internet and wifi is available for free.

Staff is always around doing hostel work (cleaning up clean plates, making sure it doesn't get a mess, answering guestions etc. etc.). A big compliment on this, because this is what a hostel can make or break!!

This is a hostel other hostels should take as an example!!!

This was our first stop in Mexico and we couldn't have been more warmly welcomed. The staff were so helpful and knowledgeable.

We had a private room which, whilst boiling hot, was lovely and clean and the beds were comfy. The room also had a safe and a fan and the toilets were communal and semi-open air so not smelly at all given the heat and the sharing!

The hostel was also in the perfect location and we found a couple of nice restaurants close by. Breakfast was average but for the price no complaints.

The best part of this hostel was the lovely setting with plants and hammocks and great for chilling out. Valladolid was pretty much my favourite place in Mexico as there were hardly any tourists so if you check it out you should definitely stay here!
