“Colonial choice”
Reviewed 31 August 2014

This place is a good choice if you are lokking for a good accommodation in Valladolid. It's few blocks away from the city center and not so far from ADO bus station too. it has spacius rooms, private bathroom, hot water, tv, AC, ceiling fan, a pool and hot tub and solarium on the roof. The colonial style it's realy pleasant. The staff is at average. During our stay in this hotel the hot tub was filled but didn't do hydro and the AC was not 100% working. The furniture is essential. We were asked 470M$ and 540M$ for a single and a double respectively. It's not perfect but it is one of the best place we have been in messico for this price. Give it a chance.

Room Tip: We chose an upper rooms exposed to the pool.

This place has several good things, for example is located a couple of blocks from the historic center, is a quiet corner so no noise, the pool is a delight with the heath of Yucatan, has free internet, there is a laundry nearby and you can even rent a bike to explore the city for a few pesos.
Ample parking to keep your car, the hotel price is reasonable.
The only bad thing was that the connection of internet was very bad and the night clerk had no idea how to reset the modem.

This hotel was absolutely middle-of-the-road. It cost a little much for a very small room with two rather small beds and a tiny bathroom, although it was fine and well for one night. It was relatively clean, the grounds were cute with a nice pool, and the location was great for walking into Valladolid. There is free parking as well.

Beyond that, I really have nothing to say. It was not a memorable hotel and was not as beautiful as the photos made it out to be. However, I have little in Valladolid to compare it to hotel-wise, so perhaps it's a gem for the area? It has a lot of potential. The staff were mainly teenagers watching television who seemed very checked out. I wouldn't not stay here although I might peek at some other hotels in the area first next time. So neither good nor bad. Just... fine albeit cramped and dark. A place to lay your head.

The room was good and the AC fine. Shower was cold, though, the first two times we used it and even after having reported it to staff the issue still wasn't taken care of. Staff appeared to be non-chalant.

On the positive side, the location is perfect (2 blocks from main plaza and one block from a beautiful park with a great Italian restaurant). Rooftop terrace has some small jacuzzis. We did not take breakfast there--note that breakfast is not included.

Overall, if management/owners would put more work and maintenance into this place it could really be a gem.

This hotel had great ambiance. You walk in and it is entirely enclosed, all rooms facing the pool in a rectangle. The decor is nice, tile work is beautiful, and even had a TV. Water had to run about 3 minutes before it was hot (2nd floor corner.). However, because the set up has all rooms encircling the pool, the noise echos all around. The noise went on and on, and my husband couldn't sleep. He complained at midnight, and people left the pool, but not the pool area. The noise didn't die down until about 1:30. If that doesn't bother you, then you will love this place!

Room Tip: I would ask for a corner room.

My friend, my dad, and I stayed for just one night on our way from Cancun to Merida. The rooms were basic, yet clean and we loved how close we were to the town square, restaurants, a coffee shop, and Cenote Zaci (right in the heart of town). We had a wonderful dinner at Cafe Italia (five minute walk) and had a lovely breakfast on the rooftop before we checked out. It's a great place to stay if you want to visit Chichen Itza (and have transportation)...you can get there in less than a half hour and beat all of the crowds. The A/C worked well and we all got a good night's sleep. Would recommend to anyone but would suggest you spend a couple of nights.

Room Tip: there are no elevators so if you have heavy luggage or problems climbing stairs, you should request...
