“Best colonial buffet restaurant in Valladolid”
Reviewed 25 July 2013

As others this was our stop place to eat for my excursion. It was amazing, everyone was so nice, the place was very clean, buffet was clear, fresh and varied. You were assigned individual tables according to your group and at the end of the meal you could go to a shop if you wanted some souvenirs. Everyone was very polite and the place was very clean.

“A Yucatan Jewel!”
Reviewed 17 July 2013

We had the pleasure of eating dinner at La Casona in Valladolid on July 11, 2013 on our archaeological tour to Ek'Balam. When you walk up to this stunning colonial home, complete with wrought-iron balconies covered in flowers, you are greeted by one of the most lovely, beautifully-dressed hostesses and owner of La Casona. You very quickly become aware of its history and the magnificent beauty of Valladolid and La Casona. It is a very large hacienda turned restaurant. Gigantic birds of paradise line one wall, another is covered in Mayan ceremonial masks, one area has ample seating for more than 20 tables with beautiful umbrellas. Up the steps to the left are more tables, and extra rooms, then the bar and buffet. It is a very large area with every dish known to the Yucatan. I suggest everything. It was a feast and a wonderful experience to meet the Lady of La Casona and the wonderful hospitality she offered to us. Please come to Cancun, take the tour to Ek'Balam and visit Valladolid, come to eat at La Casona, across from the Catholic Church and down the street a little on the left. It is safe, excellent shopping, people watching, and there are lots of tour buses from all over Mexico. It is colorful, historical, it is beautiful, the food is excellent. There is also a beautiful Cenote Zaci in town that is a must visit after you eat at La Casona.

“Buffet Spectacilar!”
Reviewed 8 July 2013 via mobile

Wonderful food! Wonderful atmosphere! Wonderful service! This Restaurant was part of our paid excursion. It was quite lovely and accommodated quite a large number of people with no problem. There was a store that we browsed in after we finished our meal and purchased souvenirs. That was very convenient. There was an area connected to the restaurant that honored the Virgin Mary de Guadalupe. It was beautiful and allowed for some wonderful pictures. Quite a memorable day to end in an equally memorable restaurant!

“Great Food Buffet”
Reviewed 19 June 2013

Our Chichen Itza bus stopped here for lunch (about 2:30PM) my expectations were low. Generally, I do not care for buffet style restaurants but this was the exception. Their beef was amazing! The best flavor with amazing tenderness all from a flank steak. I tried a few other foods too and they were fair to good but I couldn't resist filling up on the flank steak. A small variety of drinks, I had a beer, some sort of fruit punch and a Horchato - all pretty decent.
In the back there is a fountain the locals seem to be proud of. You can choose between dining under a roof in the shade or in the courtyard under an umbrella. The wait staff courteous, friendly and somewhat bilingual. It helps if you know some basic spanish, you can ask more about the food before you try to eat.
