We stopped at this restaurant for lunch, before visiting ek balam. The restaurant is great, with nice decoration and a beautiful patio. The staff is very kind and always smiling. The food was simply great, the buffet offers a very large variety of food, allowing the guests to try many different dishes of the local cuisine.everything was very tasty, including the fresh juices! A place not to miss!

This place offers some really tasty Yucatan dishes. We spent 2 days in Valladolid and tried a couple of other places, but this one was the best. You won't find this quality of food at a better price in town. Fruit juices were excellent. Definitely a recommendation if you are in town.

We came to this restaurant as a part of our tour to Chichén Itzá. The restaurant is very picturesque, and includes a beautiful altar garden. The buffet was tasty and had an interesting variety of foods - it was a great way to get to try foods from the local area. It is definitely a restaurant worth eating at. Would choose to visit again.

We had a private transfer to Chichen Itza (arranged with USA Transfers) and after visiting these ruins we asked to be dropped off here for 2 hours. This was a really impressive buffet. I don't know if it is because the tour buses arrive later for lunch or it was just the slow season (September), but we pretty much had the entire place to ourselves. They had more options than many big hotels have for their buffets. Their chicken on the bone and steak beef strips were fantastic. When we arrived at around 1:15 pm (If I remember correctly), everything was piping hot and fresh. This was just awesome. They have various juices and they also offer beer on tap, as well. It's all included for about $25.00 USD. Their vegetable and fruit selection was great. Again, for a buffet, it far exceeded my expectations!

The only disappointing part for me was their desert selections. Since I was so impressed with their food, I just could not understand why their deserts were so poor. Rice pudding had the consistency of milk with small pieces of rice floating on the bottom of the dish. Ice cream was just frozen ice crystals and it was rock hard and very difficult to scoop out of the containers. It did not taste very good. They had small popsicles that tasted like frozen juice crystals. All of their deserts were extremely poor, but I am not really a desert person, so it didn't bother me all that much.

FOOD = 10/10

DRINKS = 8/10

DESERTS = 1/10

The grounds of this restaurant are beautiful. It has a very open concept colonial look to it. There is a large fountain in the centre of the courtyard. There is also a souvenir shop and a huge and stunning shrine that you can photograph located on this premises.

This restaurant is located just a few blocks from the Mayan Chocolate factory in Valladolid. I believe the Tequila tasting factory is located nearby, as well. We also were able to snap some pictures of a beautiful large church nearby.

We all agreed that we enjoyed our lunch here very much and it was the perfect spot to tie in a few other activities that we wanted to do. I would definitely come back here again.

One thing to note is that I believe this restaurant is run by the same major tour company that runs XCARET, XICHEN, etc. When you take a XICHEN tour you have the option of eating here if you select their more expensive tour option. Or you can do as we did and use a private transfer vehicle from USA Transfers to come here.

PROS:

-Ice is purified

-Awesome selection of food

-Buffet food was piping hot and fresh

-Excellent service

-Excellent atmosphere

-Great central location for other sight seeing/activities

CONS:

-No air-conditioning
