How lovely to find this individual and well run restaurant.
Welcoming staff, very good and reasonably priced menu, the starters we chose were - crab with mango and beetroot, mushrooms with a poached egg, and scallops with black pudding, cauliflower purée and crispy bacon. Each one delicious, two minor changes would have made them perfect - 1. Cauliflower purée would have benefitted from being finer and 2. the poached egg would have been delicious if runny and not hard boiled.
Our main courses, rack of lamb, pork three ways, and the duckling were well cooked, well presented and very tasty - portion size was just right and enjoyed by all of us.
We decided to have a trip down amnesia way and enjoy crepe suzette flambéed at table - primarily because I've not seen it on a menu for ages and it was a little bit of theatre at the end of a delicious meal! Nicely done, one small addition of some orange zest would have made it perfect, but delicious nonetheless. We also had a cheese board which was plentiful, well presented and thoroughly enjoyed.
Definitely will return when visiting family and am very pleased to have found this restaurant which is head and shoulders above any of the chain restaurants locally.
