Reviewed 12 January 2014

well, we had already booked our stay before we looked at the reviews
so were optimistic, on our arrival, however things couldn't have been better
we were met by friendly staff and we requested to see our room prior to booking in
this was no problem, although a little outdated everything was clean and tidy
we attended a party there the same night and had very nice dinner again staff
were polite and friendly, bed was better than ours at home breakfast was a little
early finished at nine on a sunday morning
but there was no rush for us to leave,
so all in all a very nice stay and would recommend to anyone.

Am staying away on business, and this is a great value for money place, that has a bit more personality than your average travelodge!
Staff are fantastic, rooms clean, if somewhat dated, and food was brilliant. Massive portions though so recommend you don't eat during the day! (They cater alot for construction workers so big portions work well for those guys!)
Will be staying regularly as a base for work over the next few months!

Room Tip: Bring your own pillow as the foam ones provided are quite hard. All rooms set back from the A5 itse...

Haven't stayed at the Motel so can't comment on accomodation. However, we have eaten here twice recently in their lovely, friendly restaurant and can't fault anything from the pleasant welcoming bar, to the excellent attentive service from staff, and the delicious authentically home cooked food. First time we popped in on the off chance as it was close, late-ish and hadn't booked anywhere local to take our guest for dinner on a Friday night. We received a lovely welcome from the family who run it and were invited to choose a meal from their specials board ( mon-fri) at £10 for 2 courses. Loads of choice and the Beer Battered Cod,Chips and Peas we ordered turned out a real treat. The massive portion with real chips, and freshly made chef's batter was truly delicious. We went back this week with family on a Saturday night, again without booking and they found us a table. We ordered from the main menu this time and again, the food was excellent, all served with a lovely varied choice of fresh (not frozen) veg, a choice of potatoes and again a very good portion size - great value. Everywhere seemed clean, good size car park, and no one rushing round you making you feel uncomfortable. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to friends.

This was not a good experience. It was the worst accommodation that I have ever stayed in. The room was dirty in fact filthy, everything in the room was old, tired and grubby and they take your payment on arrival and I can understand why, the moment I saw my room I wanted to run away, maybe some have. The building itself is just as tatty and not friendly at all. The breakfast was dreadful, they ran out of bacon and replaced it with a big hair that I found. Would not recommend at all.
