We've just got married at Bellows Mill. Fantastic venue for a wedding reception and the catering (provided by Patricia's Cuisine, Eaton Bray) was first rate. Rachael, the owner, was always on hand to deal with any queries we had. The accommodation was lovely and quiet and clean (we had sole use of the site) and all the guests rated their stay highly. We wanted a child friendly wedding and there was lots of space for them to run around. The lake is beautiful and we enjoyed welcome drinks there before a meal in the main hall. Many thanks to Patricia and Rachael for a day to remember. I'd highly recommend a stay or a function at Bellows Mill.

Room Tip: The cottage was very spacious and comfortable

We have just spent 8 days at Bellows Mill. A convenient location for anybody visiting Whipsnade Zoo and surrounding areas. The accommodation is comfortable and ideal if you are happy to be in a rural setting. We had the Loveshack and my son The Green House, very cosy, all that you need including a small kitchen area. Would recommend to anybody who likes to be self sufficient and enjoys the countryside. Rachael was very hospitable and nothing was too much trouble. A fantastic find.

We stayed one night in The Shepherd's Hut - a new cabin in the grounds - and it was utterly wonderful. Although Rachael was away the weekend we were there, the people that were there in her place were incredibly welcoming, talking to us about the mill, showing us around the grounds and even offered to give us a lift up to Whipsnade Zoo (the reason that we were in the area).
The Shepherd's Hut was perfect - compact hut with lovely, comfy big bed, new shower facilities and a pizza oven and BBQ at the front on the decking.
The area is very peaceful, very remote, and it took about 20 minutes to walk into the nearest village where there is a pub with food, local convenience store and an Indian restaurant and Chinese takeaway/fish and chip shop.
I will definitely be back and I'm planning a trip with other friends at some point in late summer, I hope, for a relaxing weekend.
All in all - utterly beautiful and a hugely relaxing short break.

Room Tip: They all seemed lovely!!

We stayed one night at Bellows Mill whilst recently visiting the area. Unfortunately they had been hit by flooding which meant we couldn’t stay in the room of our choice but ended up in one of the self-catering log cabins a little way from the main building. The accommodation was clean and comfortable, with an en-suite shower, microwave and fridge and it’s lovely to wake up to sound of chickens happily clucking about their business! Rachael busted a gut to get the freshly decorated cabin ready in time for our arrival and although because the Mill was going through the drying out and de-humidifying process it meant that breakfast wasn’t available, as our main reason for being there was for lunch at the Kings Head in Ivinghoe a big breakfast wasn’t necessary anyway. Indeed as this was a surprise weekend away from my wife for our anniversary Rachael had put a bottle of fizz in our fridge as a little gift, so thank you Rachael, your work and little touches were very much appreciated! We enjoyed our stay at Bellows Mill and would recommend it to anyone looking for a little bit of peace and quiet in the Bedfordshire countryside.

The overall first impression of the site is that it is a lovely collection of buildings in a beautiful setting. We stayed for one night. We would have been camping except that these days I need good over night bathroom facilities due to the effects of medication. We stayed in the Green House (colour not glass), which is a small summer house which has been made over to include a shower cubicle and a toilet cubicle. I can't really call it an en suite shower room as the shower and sink were not closed off from the main room. The Mattress was very comfy but let down by the Divan which has sagged in the middle and the duvet was very thin. An extra blanket would have been nice as it was quite cold and I didn't want to have the electric heater on all night. Bellows Mill is advertised as a Bed and Breakfast, but the cabin is described as self catering accommodation, which is a little confusing especially as there is no way you could cook a breakfast with the equipment provided and there is a notice on the wall which gives breakfast times depending on the day. I did ask about the possibility of breakfast, but the host didn't seem keen on the idea, but he did say he would leave a note on the door if there was breakfast available. No note appeared. There was a mini fridge on the floor in the corner of the room with the tea and coffee making equipment on top of it, which meant that to use it I had to get down on my knees in a very cramped area of the room. It was clean enough on the whole except for a dried on smear of something on the toilet door and a few spiders webs, but I would expect them in a cabin in the garden. Would I stay in that particular room again? No, I think the price was a little expensive considering there was no breakfast. I think that, if the shower and toilet facilities were totally separated from the rest of the room with a door in front of the toilet, the room could be rearranged to make it a bit more practical and a little less cramped.

Room Tip: I wouldn't choose the Yert either.

Stayed in the yurt for 3 nights and loved it ! Rachael was very accommodating and showed everything we needed to know . Great location too . We took torches, loo roll etc but it was all there . Just don't forget to take a torch with you if you venture out in the evening as it is pretty dark.

Room Tip: Yurt was just what we wanted
