“Quiet and convenient”
Reviewed 16 June 2013 via mobile

The hotel is in a quiet and peaceful location, 5 minutes drive from whipsnade zoo and Dunstable town centre.
We stayed here as we were using the snow centre at Hemel not far down the road and this hotel was a better price than a premier inn in Hemel itself, not to mention a quieter location.
It is advised to note there are 2 premier inns on the a5 this is the second of the two. The service was cheerful and welcoming we had a small issue with the meal deal but this was quickly sorted out and was not made a huge issue. The food at the horse and jockey was also of a very high standard and the meal deal is very much worth doing.
The rooms are functional, beds comfortable and all in all a good value stay.

Located on the A5 between the M1 and Dunstable town centre, with a Table table restaurant adjacent. Pleasant welcoming staff. Room very clean with one of the most comfortable beds we have ever had in a hotel, and we travel frequently. Modern bathroom, only slight issue that the bath took sometime to fill, the plumbing not quite as good as the brand new Premier Inns. We thought we might experience road noise, but our room faced away from the A5, and it was birdsong we were listening to! Food in the Horse and Jockey restaurant nicely presented and enjoyable. Much preferred this to the Brewers Fayres which are often next to the Premier Inns. Would definitely consider staying here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing away from the A5

Very conveniently placed for Whipsnade Zoo we thought this Premier Inn was their usual excellent standard and a bit above it. Very good room with a large TV and an armchair area, and a bathroom with a bath. Very helpful staff, and we enjoyed the table table restaurant which is popular locally, always a good sign. Generous sized meals, we didn't need all the courses, so ate for less than the meal deal price,

We have stayed in many Premier Inns over the years and found this one to be as excellent as the rest. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was comfortable, clean and tidy as always. We chose this hotel as we were returning to the area where we used to live to attend a christening so already knew the local area. The hotel was quiet despite being fully booked on the first night we were there and almost fully booked on the second night. The only minor minus point was that there wasn't very many tea, coffee, milk etc sachets / pots in the room, on arrival on our first night there was only two pots of milk. However when I went to reception to request some more I was given two baskets with everything in them and told to help myself, if they're not bothered how many they give away, why not just put them in the room anyway.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone but would advise them not to eat in the pub adjoining the hotel if it's busy - see my review on the Horse and Jockey for more information. Can't fault the hotel at all though.

Not a luxury hotel but you know that when you book a PI and it was clean, comfortable and surprising spacious. In the middle of nowhere but adjacent pub-restaurant does OK food. Would definately use again for business trips and short stays.

What can I say, apart from going to the wrong Premier Inn, there are 2 on the A5 if you come off the M1 at Jnc 9.

I was going to the Test Match at Lord's and rather than drive all the way to London from the north I thought I would stay in the Premier Inn at Luton/ Dunstable, then get the train in to London from Luton Parkway, cost £50 room, £15.50 train with travelcard + £2 parking at Luton Parkway Station (it was a Sunday).

The Premier Inn set me up for a fantastic day, slept like a log after a very nice hot bath, and the reception staff really helpful, especially when the coffee machine there wasn't working properly - they didn't shrug their shoulders - in fact the lady went and got me one from the restaurant next door.

Couldn't have been happier - Premier Inn are now my hotel accommodation provider of choice.
