Lovely place, that is surprisingly still undiscovered by a lot of people in and around Bedfordshire .
Easy walking for most people, along a circular route that skirts the huge lake ,a disused brickworks quarry. Ends up back at the forest centre and restaurant.
The restaurant serves really good hot and cold food in large well designed restaurant that looks out onto another lake and sanctuary.
Also serves draught and bottled beers which is great if your not the one driving.

“Fresh air sharpens the appetite”

The Millennium Centre cafe is convenient and does some things rather well, such as coffees, cakes and hot snacks.
Quite spacious and airy, with outdoor views and sometimes an exhibition to enjoy.
Free papers to browse through are a nice touch.

“Great walk with the dog”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 October 2012

We knew of the place but had largely ignored it frankly. What a mistake that was! We had a great afternoon walk one sunny but chilly afternoon. The dog enjoyed herself too. No crowds, plenty of space. A play area and great restaurant for light meals and snacks.
Well worth a visit

“Enjoyable”

Lovely walks on good paths or more interesting trails crisscrossing the forest. A big lake- jetboating grand prix on when we were there! Otherwise its peaceful with pleasant scenery. Great cafe with fabulous cakes, and lots of different, individual stuff in thee gift shop.
