I stopped here a little way back. Its in the process of being done up, by two very nice people, the rest of the staff were spot on too,a bit at a time. The restaurant is well done and spotless and the food was well worth every penny. I was there for a business meeting that day and the next and most of us ended back here giving the bar another try, most of us are real ale drinkers fussy isn’t even close. General opinion of all was that it was 1st rate and we would all be back. It will be good when the accommodation is all done. Am happy to recommend this place to anyone.

I am writing this because of the previous negative reviews. Went for lunch today with my daughter. Staff couldn't have been more pleasant, we had a tuna mayo jacket potato and cajun chicken pitta (both really nice and huge portions), a coke and a beer - all for £16! Very clean, no dogs or mice, toilet clean too - surprised at previous reviews

Simply other places around the area which offer a better service & are a lot more cleaner. If you don't mind a cheap but nasty place then this is for you, just be prepared to see mice & dogs running around.

Came here for dinner as there wasn't anywhere else available in the area.
The bar is nicely furnished but no ice available for drinks. Then we were greeted by dogs running around the restaurant. The young man serving was friendly but very inexperienced. Forgetting some drink orders. The food came out and you do get what you pay for, not expensive but not anything g special. I had the 'griffin burger' just about half way through I found a hair in the burger and a hair on the glass of coke my sister ordered.
When informing the young waiter he responded with "i dont know what to do".
The chef came out and it was taken off the bill, a little bit better but I won't be returning.
It's a shame as it is a nicely decorated dining area.
