“Disappointed....”
Reviewed 11 November 2012 via mobile

Very nice pub with good atmosphere and drinks selection. The food, however, was a big disappointment - very bland, unimaginative and definitely not value for money. "Traditional" Ceasar (sic) salad consisted of lettuce, tomato, dressing, a few shavings of Parmesan and a huge quantity of "shop bought" croutons. When asked why there were no anchovies on the salad the answer back from the kitchen was that they were included in the dressing! My husband's burger was also very mediocre and accompanied by overdone (obviously cooked from frozen) onion rings. The restaurant was nice and clean-the staff friendly and efficient but the ladies lavatory left a lot to be desired - entrance door grubby with dirty fingerprint marks and although the toilet itself was clean the floor and walls were not! Could be a really nice place with a bit of work but, sadly, we will not be rushing back. A couple of miles away is the Fancott at Chalton for great food at similar prices, scrupulously clean with efficient and friendly service - no competition!

“Friendliest pub in England”
Reviewed 11 November 2012

Met up with family in this pub in Bedfordshire after driving from home in Derbyshire. As it is pet friendly husband asked where we could sit before entering. The landlord and landlady couldn't have done more to accommodate us, they found our dog a bowl of water and moved us to a more comfortable spot when they realised our dog gets stiff on a cold floor. I have an allergy and landlady went out of her way to consult with chef and provide me with a dish that was really good. It is pub food but good quality. At end of evening chef asked if our dog could have a sausage that was left over, he made a friend for life. All staff are exceptional and nothing was too much trouble. If you are visiting anywhere in the Woburn area you must go to Toddington. This couple would make excellent owners of a small hotel if they ever move I will be first to visit.
