Very nice pub with good atmosphere and drinks selection. The food, however, was a big disappointment - very bland, unimaginative and definitely not value for money. "Traditional" Ceasar (sic) salad consisted of lettuce, tomato, dressing, a few shavings of Parmesan and a huge quantity of "shop bought" croutons. When asked why there were no anchovies on the salad the answer back from the kitchen was that they were included in the dressing! My husband's burger was also very mediocre and accompanied by overdone (obviously cooked from frozen) onion rings. The restaurant was nice and clean-the staff friendly and efficient but the ladies lavatory left a lot to be desired - entrance door grubby with dirty fingerprint marks and although the toilet itself was clean the floor and walls were not! Could be a really nice place with a bit of work but, sadly, we will not be rushing back. A couple of miles away is the Fancott at Chalton for great food at similar prices, scrupulously clean with efficient and friendly service - no competition!
