We chose the Potters Arms and booked very last minute - Richard was most welcoming. Even gave us him mobile number in case we were delayed and would arrive after the pub has closed. We booked B and B and the breakfast was lovely. Service fab.The room was basic and very clean. Great Value for money. From past experience we always book directly with the establishment, we have found that this gives us a good feel for the place we are going. We stayed on the night of tuesday 26th July and as we arrived late we did not have dinner but looking at the menu it all looked very inviting We wish Richard and his team all success and will tell friends who live locally that they must visit. We chose the Potters Arms for a night away (without kids). A rare occurrence and we were not disappointed. Quintessential British pub experience that delivered so much more.

Our meal was exceptional. They offer a range of tasty British favorites but remember to leave room for desserts! Good range of ales and extensive wine list. Service was attentive. The room was warm, clean and bright.

We were welcomed in the morning by the cheery landlord, tea for two and English breakfast made to order. We were charmed and returned with the kids to try out the Sunday roast before our break in the area was finished..... Proved to be another winner.

Stopped here by accident as the place down the road we were going to stay at was terrible. No names, but its close by!

Glad we did. Apparently its been taken over recently after a period of being closed. You wouldn't realise though, its very homely and welcoming, like the staff have been there for years and know exactly what they are doing. I happened to arrive on a 'comedy night'. £8 for scampi and chips with entertainment thrown in! Was extremely funny, lots of people enjoying themselves. Large car park on the property.

I looked at the menu and it offers a broad range of British staples, with a little twist on some. I didn't try it but the couple I sat with to watch the show have visited previously and couldn't rate it highly enough. The beer and drinks were great standard, and prices about what you'd expect for the area.

My room was a nice and warm room upstairs, with decent (new?) en-suite, comfy bed and digital flat screen TV. No cheap T-bags and coffee here in the rooms! The only downside is that we only got to spend one night here before catching our flight at Heathrow.

The staff are very friendly, welcoming and although busy still had time to speak to you and certainly maked our short stay more enjoyable.

If in the area again this is definitely the place we would stay. Close enough to Heathrow for a flight, yet far enough away not to be kept awake by planes!

Having been frequently disappointed by pub accommodation in the UK I was very pleasantly surprised by my stay at The Potters Arms. The room was immaculate, the beds comfortable and the cooked breakfast magnificent. The pub itself was warm and welcoming and the Sunday roast delicious. I look forward to my return.
