Owner description: Bekonscot Model Village and Railway is the world’s oldest original model village. Set in Beaconsfield, just outside of London we are a popular day attraction for people of all ages.It was opened in 1929 and it’s a great place to bring the family and stomp around like giants! There are six model towns, a huge Gauge 1 model garden railway, ride-on railway, remote-controlled boats, castles, lakes and industries in 1.5 acres of award-winning gardens. It's a great family day out, and it's your chance to be a giant in a miniature land of adventure, hidden away in a 1930s timewarp. It’s a big day out full of really nice small things and we'd love to see you soon!

We had been planning to make our way to the model village for ages, and finally the weather was right and the children were in a good mood to be out and about.

We headed over just before lunch and managed to spend most of the day there enjoying everything the village had to offer.

The workmanship on the buildings and scenes were just lovely and there was something to keep both the adults and the children interested.

We had lunch and snacks in the café, which were very tasty and reasonably priced.

Well worth the visit and we will definitely be heading back over the school holidays.

Thank Elliott B

I have been to Bekonscot many time and each time it seems like the first. Always a new experience or fond memories of prior visits. Although now almost 90 years old the team has done a great job of maintaining the model houses, trains and landscaping. In addition I noticed some new features that were not there on my last visit some 15 years ago.
This is certainly a great place for youngsters, teens, adults and seniors. Pretty much everyone can enjoy the experience.
Parking is plentiful in the church parking lot across the street.
The path around the village is pretty narrow, so I would check before trying to push a wheelchair around. Strollers are OK though.

I was recommended this place by our childminder and few families from school visited together.

Parking: there is few spaces for street parking, parking marshals show you to places on paid parking area opposite Waitrose car park.

Tickets: cost adult £10, kids £6 without gift aid. Slightly cheaper family tickets available- one adult two kids cost £20. Train cost £1 for each passenger - could be bought from tickets counter (cards accepted) or at train station (cash only). Activity sheet each 50p well worth it as kids will enjoy spotting things to answer questions.

Model village: replicas of almost every thing in a village. Replica of Enid Blyton's house was there too! Circus, church, hospital, scout camp, brownie hall, emergency workers, cricket club, golf club... lots more. You can take as little or as much time as you like.

Facilities: there is a picnic area (table and benches) and restaurant to buy food. We took our own picnic so can't comment on food choices. There is shelter in this area. Lovely play area - kids enjoyed this more than model village it seemed- not too big that also has space around for adults to sit - very useful when kids are playing and you just want to keep an eye.

Great half day activity for a sunny day.
Highly recommend

Family day out with my wife and children 10 & 5 . It's very well kept and the children loved the models especially the train's. We spent about 2 1/2 hours and really enjoyed it probably not recommended for families with teenagers.

Had a very pleasant couple of hours here yesterday.
No kids with us but my hubby & I felt like kids looking at the tiny models!
There was so many things to look at, it was wonderful. The lay out was just right
The cafe area was ok but could do with a bigger cake selection.
Definitely worth a second visit with our grandchildren

Thank Risfor
