old post cottage focus stoc stay ford fair 2013

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 30 Aug 2013
Members of the Focus ST Owners club stayed the night at the old post cottage for the weekend of Ford Fair 2013. The place was amazing, so well kept, bautiful scenery. The B&B was bautiful inside and out and Jennifer was such a loverly host nothing was too much trouble. I recommend that you book all rooms and enjoy all of the facilities Jennifer allowed us the use of the BBQ and garden which was beautiful. Jennifer also allowed us to wash and prepare our cars for Ford Fair which was one of our requirements.

We'll be staying here for many years to come.
Date of stay: August 2013
Room Tip: All room were excellent but if you need to share with friends the top bedroom sleeps 3 in...

The B&B is a very welcoming place and as to the previous posts is very close to Silverstone.

We stayed as group taking the full occupancy and nothing was too much trouble - although at times we felt we took over slightly as we vigoursly cleaned our cars and had a BBQ in gorgeous back garden.

The Rooms are very well layed out and very comfortable - power showers where amazing - iv paid more in some top hotels and had much worse so this B&B is very good value.

Cant recomedn this place enough ! Great place to stay as a stop over or even for a weekend.

      Thanks again !

Room tip: Car travel is essential if you wish to travel out from the B&B. No local ameanities within walking distance.

My wife and I are visiting Engaland for 2 months from Australia. We stayed 5 nights partly to attend a race at Silverstone and we were so pleased. Only a few miles from the circuit but in a beautiful village with pubs within easy drive also close to Oxford and Blenheim Palace.
Jennifer met us on arrival with a welcome cup of tea and biscuits, just what we needed after a long drive. The room was very comfortable and warm with a lovely hot shower in the mornings followed by a great home cooked breakfast with all the trimmings. This time also gave us a chance to meet and chat with the other guests. In summary, we really enjoyed our stay. Thanks again Jennifer.

This was myself and my Girlfriends first stay away being newly engaged, we was looking for a place close to Silverstone as we was down for the Moto Gp Racing, we easily booked our room via Email, Jennifer was very helpful, after 3 hours ride in the rain, we arrived, and was welcomed, and felt straight at home, i felt safe leaving my bike locked up there, we had tea/coffee in our room :) and had a brilliant bath, then off for a 40 mins walk to the nearest village and Pub (Bull & Butcher) the next morning we was up early for breakfast with the other guests and then off to Silverstone, overall the stay was perfect and we enjoyed our weekend, i would love to stay here next year for Motogp :D many thanks Adam

Just returned from our 2nd stay at the old Post Cottage. We went for Grand Prix weekend, the Bed and breakfast is about 2.5 miles from the track and in a really quiet village. Nearest pub is Bull and butcher in Akeley (2.5 miles), good for food although it is best to book, there is also the Fox and Hounds in Whittlebury but this gets really busy as it is near to the track and campsites.
Hospitality at The Old Post Cottage is great Jennie is an excellent host and even lent me a pair of wellies for the weekend, as it was rain, rain and more rain this weekend, and the whole track was full of mud. Jennie even dropped us off near the track to save us trying to get our cars out of a muddy field. We stayed a standard double room with a shared bathroom which was nicely furnished and more than adequate for our stay.
Breakfast is really good and there is a good selection on offer to suit everyone.
Thanks again Jennie will be back!

Room tip: All rooms overlook the surrounding fields.

the house is located in a lovely village and is only a short drive from silverstone, but can be a bit hard to find. when i arrived jennifer was very welcoming and helpful giving me very clear directions to all of the nearest pubs and shops. The bed of the room I slept in was very comfortable and i got a very plesant nights sleep. The breakfast in the mornig was very tasty and there were a wide range of cereals and fruits along with a cooked breakfast to choose from. over all it was a very plesant stay and one of the best B&B's I have stayed in, and i would strongly recomend it for other people.
