“Great value and lovely food”
Reviewed 23 January 2012

We booked this hotel as part of a Travel Zoo weekend deal, and what great value it was. The food was excellent, well prepared and served with a smile. Our room (211) was large and in a quiet location, though there is a distinct difference between those parts that have had a refurb and those awaiting one. The bar has an open fireplace though a few more tables and chairs would be welcome. Though there is residents lounge which is very cosy, but this was closed to us on the Saturday due to a private party. Tickets to Bletchley were part of the deal and worth a visit as was Stowe Garden. Overall strongly recommended

My second stay here and as before very enjoyable. The Hotel is centrally located in this small market town and has the benefit of free parking (I find the size of the parking spaces fine perhaps because I live in congested London) 'Villiers' has a Residents Lounge, small Bar and Resturaunt as well as a lovely 'Public' Bar with roaring log fire open to all. Our room was located in the much newer extension overlooking the courtyard and despite being in full party season very quiet. The Hotel decor is very traditional and the bedrooms are a bit 'twee' but I guess this is Buckingham not Manhatten. We also had an excellent breakfast included which was cooked to order. The service from the young team was excellent all the way. I will definately stay again.

Booked Villiers Hotel on an internet deal to celebrate our 46th wedding anniversary. It included dinner bed and breakfast and on the first night their 2 Rosette a la carte meal and their set meal on the second night. It also included tickets for Bletchley Park the home the codebreakers during World War two. All in all a tremendous weekend and terrific value. The rooms were nicely appointed although a little small and the en suite bathroom was fine. The food was very good on both nights although not exceptional it was again fine. The staff were helpful and friendly all around the hotel including the restaurant staff who on the second night, our anniversary, surprised us with a glass of champagne each, chocolates, an anniversary card from the staff and sprinkled stardust and greetings on the table. A very nice touch. The weekend was extremely good and enhanced by our tickets to Bletchley Park certainly one of the most interesting place I have ever been to. Would absolutely recommend this hotel to visitors to Buckingham.

We and another couple took advantage of the Travelzoo offer which has to be one of the best value for money offers available, A la carte evening meal the first night and the standard menu on the second night with full breakfast menu on both days for £99, also included free entry to Bletchley Park (code breakers). From the moment of booking, arrival at the hotel/reception to the bar/ dinning room staff and particular the young dinning room manager you could not wish for more helpful, friendly and very professional staff. The meals were an absolute delight with one of our group declaring that she did not want her desert on the first night to end, it was that good. The decor and accommodation was first class very comfortable clean. Ample parking facilities. The free entry to Bletchley Park was an a real bonus, we enjoyed a real interesting day, take advantage of the guided walk. I would definitely visit the hotel again.

We have just stayed at the Villiers Hotel and really enjoyed it. The food was excellent...the staff friendly and helpful....a warm and comfortable room....even a warm bathroom with a powerful shower...a very nicely decorated hotel too. The only challenge was parking between the posts in the courtyard! Buckingham is a pretty little place and well worth looking round. It's also handy for Bicester Village.
(Little criticism: the wi-fi connection was irritatingly weak.)

Having spent our third Christmas at The Villiers we have again been impressed by the service, the quality of the food, the entertainment, the friendly and attentive staff and the overall care and attention to detail shown by Jean and her team. The only criticism is the weak wi-fi coverage in our rooms (123/4). The treasure hunt is highly recommended.

Stayed here with my wife for a party held at Villiers and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We had stayed here before and found it so-so but this time it was a better experience. For a start we had a bigger room (beware some rooms are really quite small) with a comfy bed and large bathroom (room 104). Breakfast was traditional, well cooked and plentiful. There was always staff on hand at reception, in the bar and restaurant so no frustrating waits! Buckingham itself is a nice old town with some very pretty walks (ask at reception) and quaint shops.

Room Tip: There are small rooms so make sure you request a larger room. The quietest rooms face the courtyard.
