“good evening meal”
Reviewed 19 July 2012

just stayed at the villiers on travelzoo break. No complaints on evening meal which was of a good standard. However, the fruit salad for breakfast on second morning was definitely yesterdays, and the poached egg was inedible. The entire decor was 'tired' and I would certainly not class this as a 4 star hotel, our bathroom, although clean, was a little 'tatty' and we were only given 1 bath towel till I asked for another. Sorry but for me this should be no more than 3 star

Spacious, comfortable accomodation for two in a double room. More than adequate storage space in a well furnished bedroom with a large bathroom and good shower facilities. Friendly, polite and attentive staff with excellent food, dinner and breakfast. Would stay again.

Im a fussy traveller and arrived with trepidation knowing that it wasnt what i would normally book. This hotel totally exceeding my expections! Staff very polite and helpful, rooms large and very clean with tea coffee and biscuits. Buckingham is a lovely market town and parking was free ....yes a little tight but safe.
Breakfast was faultless and service again very very good. Cant wait to go back.

Stayed one night in June 12 as a party of five. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious and well equipped, clean and tidy. We stayed on a dinner, bed and breakfast deal and the evening meal was excellent - great atmosphere and service and superb food. I had duck for the main course which was just perfect.

Only issue during the stay was that the air conditioning wasn't working in my room. Although a fan was provided it wasn't sufficient. Minor point in what was a very good stay overall.

Stayed here for 2 nights - lovely room, much bigger than most, good comfy armchairs, and really friendly staff...thoroughly recommend this place :-)

Room Tip: Get there early for the onsite car park...we didnt have to find the ones that are harder to find !

This is a much more attractive hotel (and restaurant-see separate review) than might be imagined from its facade on a tight sidestreet in the centre of Buckingham. There are two car parks, both of which take a little finding and from small signs of side of the road.
Once inside, impressions are completely changed. A fresh and welcoming reception and my double room was extremely large with windows over the cobbled forecourt/car park, padded window seats, two wing armchairs and a chair at the working area alongside the usual television, ironing board, tea making facilities etc. Attractively, to me, decorated and furnished in deep red/maroon regency style and with an extremely comfortable bed.

I can thoroughly recommend this as a midpriced hotel although would ask that their pay a bit more attention to check out-I waited 5 min as there was nobody on reception and a further 5 min once they came back and dealt with two individuals who had already checked out but needed a bit more information. In the end I left without paying with a promise to ring them back and it was all sorted out over the phone perfectly amicably. However when I want to leave I want to leave and a 10 min delay was really not acceptable.

My second visit to this hotel - I came back because of the wonderful time I had last October. This visit was just as good - the staff are really friendly and helpful whether on reception, behind the bar or in the restaurant. The room was lovely with a big window seat and two comfy armchairs. At dinner the food was great and my only complaint was that my poached eggs at breakfast were not lovely and soft - and that is indeed a minor issue. Thoroughly recommend this hotel.
