My partner and I stayed here last Friday night, having come through from London after work to celebrate our anniversary at one of Blumenthal’s establishments in nearby Bray. We had never been to Taplow or indeed the local area before so we did not really know what to expect…

We booked an executive double online for £105 earlier that week. On arrival, we were upgraded to the spacious Orkney suite which was absolutely wonderful. The room is very well appointed with a four-poster bed, 2 separate seating areas and huge south facing bay windows overlooking the grounds and famous tulip tree. We were also sent up champagne and chocolates courtesy of Management.

We would just like to thank the hotel and its friendly staff for treating us so kindly and getting our anniversary weekend off to such an amazing start. We would certainly stay here again and would recommend the Orkney suite in particular to anyone.

p.s. as we ate dinner in Bray that evening (a very short taxi ride from the hotel, about £7) and had an early lunch in Henley the following day we cannot offer any comment on the food offering unfortunately. However, in terms of initial reception, hotel staff, room quality, value and customer satisfaction, we would happily give Taplow House full marks.

Spent the whole day at the hotel using the business facilities including lunch evening meal and breakfast. Found the Taplow to be in an excelant location with nice grounds which have an interesting history of the varied trees in the grounds. The staff were very attentive and friendly the meals provided were varied and plentiful. The rooms were very nice and peaceful. I had a good nights sleep. All in all I would have no hesitation in staying here again.

One thing found it strange the bar for residents closed at 11 pm, maybe a good thing

We chose Taplow House as our wedding venue & I couldn't have ask for anymore than the team at Taplow House delivered.
From booking to the day all our needs were cater for with an excellent personal touch.
I stayed in the Junior Suite over looking the grounds the night before & to wake up to that view was perfect. The suite facilities (shower) were amazing!
We have been flooded with comments from all our guests also saying a great venue, friendly team, outstanding food, a perfect day! When guests tell you what a great time they have at your wedding... It's a wonderful feeling so Taplow House thank you sooooo much for everything. I strongly recommend this venue to any couples looking for the perfect venue. It's small but big, easy accessible but secluded, and it's all about you both! Thanks Gabrielle & the team... It was perfect, look forward to seeing you all again soon :-) x

We stayed the weekend here, mainly for its location as we were dining at the Fat Duck in nearby Bray (!) Its your usual and traditional country house hotel and all very lovely for that. Yes, the stairs are a bit ricketty and the reception is a bit curious - but there is nothing wrong with all of that (although I'm not sure there is any lift in the building)

Rooms are fine, large enough, well decorated and furnished so no complaints with anything at all there. Main gripe was the service : at breakfast there was fruit juice but no glasses, I got an "oooh yessss" when I asked. Toast was brought with no butter ("oooh yessss"), coffee with no milk ("oooh yessss"), no knife ("oooh yessss"). Everything eventually arrived but it was a bit of a joke that somehow butter AND toast, at the same time, was some kind of complicated equation that needed a lot of thinking about!!

You can occasionally hear planes overhead, and also occasionally hear guests in other rooms, but we were not bothered about that and it wasn't intrusive or unusual so we didn't have the same problems that others seemed to report.

However, don't be put off just by the service issues, a lovely hotel in a nice setting, nice location for Windsor etc and ten minutes walk (or two minutes in taxi) from the train station.

If you are coming from Heathrow I suspect its cheaper to book a taxi via the hotel. The fixed fare was £80 from Heathrow taxi rank, the return fare from the hotels taxi provider (which was very excellent by the way, we used them a lot) was a fixed £35....

I chose this venue for my company off-site strategy meeting. The Tulip room was used for the daytime meeting and was set-up boardroom style. We were given a projector, screen, 2 flip charts, all stationery needed and water and mints. Lunch was provided in Berry's restaurant and the food was fantastic. Extremely tasty. We were running over schedule for most of the day but the staff dealt with this extremely well.

The champagne reception was held in Grenfell, followed by dinner in the evening again in the Tulip room. The service during dinner was amazing. Everything flowed very well without a hitch. All menu choices had been pre-ordered as well as the wine during dinner. We then moved back to Grenfell where the staff had set-up a private bar for us to use and had moved some soft seating into this room for us.

Everyone also commented on how easy the hotel is to locate, being only 15 mins or so from the M4.

I would definitely use this hotel again for both corporate meetings and would also recommend to friends and family if they want complete relaxation for a couple of days.

Thank you.

Room Tip: Choose a room overlooking the garden, rather than the back of the hotel. The Hampton suite is very...

Do not stay in the Marlow Room. It is at the end of the service corridor with a door that leads to the car park. I've so far overheard conversations about a broken washing machine and had the delight of a staff member who chose to use it as a place to burp. The hotel is under the Heathrow flight path with little sound proofing, so expect frequent interruptions from overhead. All this for almost GBP200 a night!
