A nice big carpark at the rear. Was shown to the room, had to ask about wifi code and breakfast times.
Room was okay mix match furniture, bed was a little creaky but comfortable, shower room was big and the shower itself was okay. Only problem was the blind for the window let to much light in so in the morning the room is very bright.
I stayed in room 6 which is close to the road and the noise is loud but not too bad but when the lorries go past the room vibrate!
The food is good a bit on the pricey side £10 for a salad, breakfast was okay no sausages, no fruit on offer and the toast was burnt on one side.
Wifi was good in the room!

We stayed here for one night recently while touring the area ..... Very close to the NT Waddesdon Manor !
We arrived after lunch and the kitchen had just closed but they were very obliging and made us some baguettes . Our room at the front was large with good size shower room Only draw back being the noise from the road but that is something the owners can't do anything about .
The dining room is modern and we had a good meal in there during the evening Breakfast the following morning was also good .
Only thing I thought was not in keeping with the place and would not be to everyone's taste was the "men" pictures in the ladies loos !!!!! Guess there might have been ladies ones in the Gents !!!

Four of us went for a pre-booked Sunday lunch today. We were given a lovely round table in the window. Service was very friendly and efficient. Drinks were served quickly and were reasonably priced. We had starters then 4 of us chose the carvery; the joints were juicy and portions very generous. The Yorkshire puds were crispy and huge! The veg was plentiful, roast potatoes could have been crispier but that's being fussy. Overall the meal was very good, nice friendly staff, pleasant atmosphere, and we'd all go again.

We stayed here for one night as we were booked into a function at Waddesdon Manor. They couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating on arrival, suggesting that we book a taxi rather than walk to the Manor (it was a grim November evening, although you can actually walk it in 20 minutes). The staff then booked a return taxi for us.

We had a lovely spacious double room, which we couldn't fault.

We didn't eat in the restaurant for dinner, so can't comment on that.

We had a very welcoming person at breakfast the next day, who attended to us promptly and made sure we were looked after. The breakfast was also excellent.

All in all, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this Hotel/Inn.

Stayed here for work purposes
Check in was friendly enough
The steak I had was lovely
However the hotel is situated on a really busy main road
My room actually shook when the big lorries went past making sure I was woken at 5am every morning
I was told there was not much the hotel could do about the noise......maybe double glazing could be looked into?
Also noisy people out the front of hotel till after 11 at night, no consideration for people staying there
Wouldn't go back purely because of the noise issues

Just called into the Lion in Waddesdon. Luckily for us it was the Lions steak night. £25 for two people. Beautiful steak meal and a bottle of wine all inclusive. Very friendly and warm atmosphere. Will definitely be going there again. Many thanks.

We were on a weekend away with friends, staying across the road in the five arrows for two nights in May. We had a lunch and a dinner in The Lion and all five us had different meals. All were excellent. The owners / staff take great care and pride in providing quality food. I still think about my pasta dish, it was lovely. The prices were very good for food and drink. Just sorry we do not have a pub like this near us.
