We stayed for one night before a wedding food was good, the room comfortable the jacuzzi bath was a bonus. The breakfast was ok but could have been better but all in all cant complain and would recommend.

We stayed here for the weekend due to it's proximity to Silverstone, for which it is ideal, only a 15 minute drive to the circuit. And within walking distance of The Bell there are 3 pubs, an Indian restaurant, 3 takeaways and a convenience store.
The staff at this hotel really were great, they're a true asset, friendly, courteous and helpful on arrival, and through out our stay. They even put on an early 7am breakfast for us race-goers to fuel up upon, which was really appreciated.
That's the pleasing side....
The hotel itself is right on top of a sharp bend on the main road, and due to Winslow's rural location we had heavy farm traffic thundering past our room near continuously til the small hours, then starting again at dawn.
The room we had was tired, tired decor, a tired bathroom with fittings coming off the wall, tired beds that had seen comfier days, and towels that had the texture of 120 grit sandpaper.
It did feel like the hotel itself was letting the great staff down.
Would I stay again? Yes; nothing was so bad that it detracted from what the people who run the Bell Hotel are clearly trying to achieve.
Would I recommend the Bell? Yes; if you're needing a stopover for Silverstone, it's ideal.... For any other vacation? Like the farm traffic, I'd pass by.

This was just a one night stop. Sometimes you take pot luck with this type of pub with rooms hotel. We were lucky. It is very traditional, a Georgian (18th century) building with sympathetic, older modernisation. Our room was clean, but not spotless and comfortable with everything working as it should.

Being an old building, there are plenty of steep stairs, but part of the charm.

We had dinner in the restaurant, which is good quality pub food. On arrival, we were told that there would be a delay as they were extremely busy. In fact, the food turned up within 15 minutes, was freshly cooked, generous portions and tasty.

Breakfast was a bit indifferent - cotton wool scrambled eggs, overcooked bacon and "emulsified fat tubes" sausages (fans of 'Yes Minister' will recognise what I am talking about).

Good value and free onsite private parking. One that I would stay at again.

If you want to stay in a genuine historic building with all the quirks - steep winding stairs, uncertain plumbing - this is the place. Full of charm & character yet offering free wi-fi. The staff are very friendly & helpful. It tells its own story that the inn area is busy with locals. Our spacious, airy room looked out on the town square where I thoroughly enjoyed watching others set up the Sunday Farmers' market. Others maybe would be annoyed being woken up so early though my O.H. slept through the whole thing.

Room Tip: Do mention if steep stairs are a problem so an appropriate room is allocated.

I have been for a lunchtime meal with a friend today at the Bell. I ordered chicken off the menu. The meal was very bland and not worth the price they charge. You got microwave vegetables, especially dried cauliflower. We decided to eat outside in the courtyard but soon noticed the chefs were there near us smoking on two occasions (is this the kind of hygiene you would expect) Other staff joined them for smoking sessions. Is this what you would expect from staff wearing and soiling the hotel uniform? Will I be back to eat there.....NO.
Look around Winslow as there are some excellent alternative places to eat.

Booked at the last minute for a graduation party, we stayed on the hottest weekend of the year so far with temperatures topping 30! When we first went into the room, it was so hot and stuffy, I thought we might have a problem! But with the windows thrown wide and a fan provided from downstairs, all was well and we were very comfortable!

Very quiet overnight even though there was a big wedding. Wifi didn't work for us but we were quite a long way from reception!

My only tiny niggle was the breakfast staff gave the impression that we were slightly stopping them from getting on with the rest of the day and just wanted to get us fed and out as quick as possible! Coffee was the worst I've had in years too! My tip is to not book breakfast til they get this sorted as there are a couple of lovely cafes in the square serving much more appetising breakfasts and proper coffee!

Room Tip: The back of the hotel was nice and quiet but no wifi!

We were on a whirlwind tour trying to cover as much of England and Scotland as we could in four days. Left Edinburgh early morning and finally got to Winslow at 5.30pm. This was our second time staying at the Bell. This time we got the rooms at the back, facing the other pub. The room was smaller, so was the bathroom. But it was still as cosy as it was last year. Don, the Canadian at the reception, remembered us from our first visit. Breakfast was simple but still as nice. I just hope the next time we could stay for more than just a night here.
