We stayed in the Tawny Owl barn as we were booked into for a tour of Chilford Hall Vineyard.
Michelle was very welcoming and even gave us a lift to the tour. We stayed for two nights and had a very relaxing time. The breakfast provided was excellent especially the bread and raspberries. The barn itself was cosy and spotless. It is a good base from which to visit Cambridge as it is not far from the park and ride into the centre, the Zoo and other attractions. The village itself has plenty of good places to eat. We would return if we are in the area again.

I stayed in the Barn Owl barns on and off for a period of 6 months, whilst I was working in the area. Both barns were spotlessly clean and I was exceptionally well looked after by Michelle. I would not hesitate to return if I was staying in the area again.

I stayed in Barn Owl Barn with my girlfriend after a trip winetasting at Chilford Hall. On arrival Michelle was very welcoming and offered us a lift to the Hall which was very kind. We put our things in the barn and it was clean and bright and had everything that we needed.

As we'd mentioned that we'd try and have a barbeque in the evening, the host kindly provided some equipment and placed it in the barn ready for our return.

Linton is a lovely village with good pubs within easy walking distance. We had a great night sleep and found the barn to be cosy and really well equiped and modern.

Room Tip: Only stayed in Barn Owl Barn - but this was excellent.

Chose this accommodation because of its proximity to cambridge and saffron walden and because it looked different to the usual bed and breakfast or self catering arrangements.
was pleased with the 'barn' for this short 2 night stay. very private and peaceful and the owner michelle could not have been more welcoming or helpful.
quirky and very well presented accommodation at a reasonable price, and a good continental breakfast available if required.
there is a very low beam which requires negotiating and whilst it adds a great deal of character, may become a nuisance on a longer stay.

  • Liked — Location, privacy
  • Disliked — very low beam is quirky but could be a nuisance on a longer stay.

Thank you for your review I am pleased you enjoyed my little Barn and the experience. I tried so hard to have the beam relocated but the Conservation officer would not allow it as the Barn is grade 2 listed.Part of the fabric and quirky charm now !! We are careful to advise guests so they know what to expect when they book.

We stayed here for a weekend during a much needed escape from London. As soon as we arrived the stress dropped away: the barn is cosy, quirky but yet well-appointed with all mod cons. Michelle, the owner, was friendly and helpful and spent time explaining what to do in the village. Linton itself is very quaint with very pretty period buildings and has a great boozer in the Dog and Duck. I'd recommend this brilliant B&B to anyone!

We chose to stay at Barn Owl Accomodation in the converted barn as we had been bought a wine tasting experience at nearby Chilford Hall.

My boyfriend and I stayed in the barn for two nights and had a lovely time. The barn is very nicely converted and a comfortable place to stay. We didn't cook but all the facilities were provided in a cute little kitchen. Breakfast for the two days was left in the fridge for us and we given all the privacy we desired.

The village of Linton is close enough to drive into Cambridge. We wouldn't recommend getting a taxi anywhere as they are pricy! We used a taxi service based in Linton to take us to Chilford Hall which is approx two miles away - it cost us £10 and were told we wouldn't get a cheaper base fare in that area!! There is a lovely pub just around the corner from the barn which do nice meals and a co op in the village to purchase food. We were told there is an Indian restaurant and Chinese take away but as we didn't use these cannot really comment.

Overall we had a lovely time and we would recommend Barn Owl Accomodation to others.

My boyfriend and I had booked the wine tasting tour in Chilford Hall and decided to spend the night in the village. The barn is absolutely delightful. Nothing is missing and very cleaned. Michelle like after it extremely well. We had an excellent night sleep. Breakfast was lovely, very good variety from fresh fruits to croissants. Highly recommended.
