I stayed two nights, the room was clean and large enough for me, even had a stereo but I'm unsure if they all do. Nice area out the back for when it stopped raining (briefly) three real ales. Food was OK but nothing particularly special. The Monday night is Pie night (3 courses for £11.95) was good value. Mine was a business trip, so on balance I would stay there again if in the area.

Room Tip: Despite the proximity to the A1, I didn't hear it, even with the window open. All of the rooms a...

This pub is local to us and we have always enjoyed eating there. When a board went up outside advertising a change in menu for the "summer" we thought we would give it a go. Not impressed...very " Frankie & Bennys", food almost appeared to be the the fast food catergory and the waitresses seemed very stretched. Waited 20 minutes for our drinks and even then my husband had to go to the bar and ask where they were. Saw food plates being passed over customers heads rather than placing them infront of them, we were not asked if everything was ok with our meals and the brownies in the chocolate sundae were warm so it melted all of the ice cream. Shame that whoever owns the pub has seen fit to change things, it was best left as it was as it had an "edge" on other pubs in the area as far as food is concerned.

This is a very pleasant pub with 8 bedrooms in attached wing. A bonus point is that it is possible to park opposite the rooms in order to unload luggage. Room (no 8) was clean, large and with a comfortable bed. The en suite bathroom/shower was adequate but lacked any space on which to put toiletries. Meals are freshly cooked and served either in the restaurant area or outside on the patio. Staff were efficient and friendly. There is easy access from the A1 and it is in easy reach if travelling on the A428 linking Cambridge and Bedford.

Staff always pleasant and helpful, and apart from mould on the shower curtain,room/bathroom was clean.BreakfastO.K.but service although good was totally different on the two days we were there, for instance, toast in a toast rack, next morning on a plate, milk on the table for coffee, next morning cream sachets on the saucer,my breakfast identically ordered, but day one I had 2 sausage 2 rashers of bacon, next day 1 sausage 3 rashers of bacon, but for £70.00B/B O.K but could be a lot better.

We met up with our special friends from Derby here as it was roughly half way between us. From the moment we walked in we fell in love with this Inn. The room was lovely and clean, the bar had a nice atmosphere and the food was delicious. We have decided to meet here in the future.

Spent an afternoon with some friends here at this nice old watering hole. After an impressive lunch and a few too many decided to check in for the night. All was fine comfy bed, clean bathroom and another great meal ; breakfast kept me going till supper. Staff a pleasure, good all round value, would revisit.

We went to play Golf at St.Neots and needed an overnight stop - my friend found the Eaton Oak on the Interenet and we were very impressed -the rooms were large and comfortable and everything spotless - the deal was for bed, breakfast and evening meal and for £60 per night each it was great value. The Staff were so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Dinner on the first night was all freshly prepared and breakfast again was cooked to order - well done - it is essentially a pub with rooms but what a find - we would definately stay there again if in the area.
