We have had numerous Sunday Lunches here. The service is always good and the food better but it can get very busy and being seated in the bar isn't as good as the restaurant area.

We decided to hunt for a new eating place for our weekly Sunday lunch and we were so impressed with service. VERY friendly bar staff aswell as the chef doing the carvery. Childrens meal was very generous. We sat outside and had our food in the sun while my son played on the free bouncy castle. Plenty of staff working so always someone to ask if we needed anything and plates and glasses were cleaned away very quickly. We are so pleased we tried this place. Can't wait to return!! (:

Good food at a reasonable price. Good bar service. The bar man was very obliging, but didn't like the way the manager spoke to him in front of customers.

We arrived on Sunday and the restaurant was very busy (we had booked a table for four people in advance).
Service was prompt and polite, Sunday carvery is offered along with a full menu of other meals. The carvery was delicious, meat perfect and a variety of perfectly cooked veg and roast potatoes.
Excellent location for a Sunday lunch, we'll definitely be back!

The theme of this review is "slowwww service".
We were ignored by the staff milling around when we arrived, so we waited at the bar for 5 mins to ask about getting a table to eat, then another 5 to order food and drinks at the bar (two shandies, a fish finger sandwich, BBQ burger, extra chips and onion rings = £30, not bad value), where we were told it would take 30 mins for the burger. This wasn't a problem as we we weren't in a hurry, but then we sat for 55 mins with no explanation, we even resorted to finding the staff back at the bar to ask where our food was. No apology was given, we were told by a server "well we did say when you ordered it would be half an hour and it is only 40 mins (not according to our receipt which showed around an hour...) and also we couldn't find your table (in your pub? We're not that small!) ". The staff's attitude was rude, abrupt and unapologetic, unfortunately we had already paid, otherwise we would've walked out. The saving grace was that our food tasted good, simple pub grub done well, not greasy and definitely not stingy with the portion sizes. Not enough to return though.
