“A little bit of paradise”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

A hidden gem full of treasures. Look up, look down and all around you. Chose a walk to suit you from 1 1/2 the meadow walk, 2 miles the heron walk or if your feeling energetic the 7 mile river Ouse walk. Wild flowers, the birds and the scenery. Not to be missed.

“Lovely place for a walk/birdwatching”
Reviewed 27 April 2014

The trails are easily accessed although parts can be muddy in wet weather. Great place for birdwatching/walking the dogs. Although it would be nice if dog walkers could take home their mess - leaving a bag of dog poo on a fence post is ridiculous and there was one grass verge that seems to have become the place to do it and leave it! Otherwise it's very pretty and quiet - except for lots of birdsong.

“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed 26 November 2013

Part of Paxton Pits backs onto my house, so if i have nothing to do (which is very rarely) I like to go for a quick walk around the pits. They have recently built a new information centre, and there are various viewing spots. Ideal for the twitchers in your life and families alike.

“excellent nature reserve”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

Really good reserve with plenty of walks and plenty of wildlife to see, can walk the ouse valley way from here as well. Good visitor centre where you can get hot/cold drinks and snacks. Recommended.
