We went on a midweek for our anniversary meal. The service was good, and the choice of wine very good. We ordered the rack of beef, but thought it was a little undercooked so had to send it back for a little more grilling. The starters were great though! Staff friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Dined here on Friday night, circa 19.30! We received a luke-warm reception from the over-kill of four Staff at the reception desk, so not a particularly friendly or welcoming attitude at all. Although, upon reflection this is probably because we aren't local & we aren't "Regulars" & at one point we were even referred to as "Tourists," by one of the Front-of-House Staff, (female), which was highly patronising, really inappropriate & most unnecessary, but clearly demonstrative of her ignorance! We were invited to take a drink at the bar which we did; the barman was really lovely by comparison & served us with great efficiency & most importantly, a smile! Upon being shown to our table which was immediately situated upon the entrance, with less than half a metre between the door & the seat, as well as being adjacent to the stairwell, which was draughty & definitely felt like the "cheap-seats" in the house! The table itself was incredibly tiny; almost like a café-style table, small, inexpensive & most definitely wasn't fit for purpose in terms of providing an ample & comfortable dining space. Within seconds of being seated my Friend noticed her chair was broken; the back had literally split at the seem & had come away from the actual seat pad! However, this was simultaneously noticed by one of the Front-of-House Staff, most probably since we were located so close to the entrance that we could have easily conducted the Customer meet & greet routine ourselves; whom offered apologies & quickly switched chairs. The menu cards were tatty, worn & even littered with food stains; this really is extremely poor & simple unacceptable. We opted for the chicken skewers which, to their credit were lovely, as was the potted beef with piccalilli!! The rib eye steak was OK; medium-rare as requested & although it was edible, it was nothing outstanding in terms of taste or presentation. However the fish & chips were dire! The fish was still frozen in parts & the batter was quite soggy & as with the steak, these chips weren't homemade, so this was a huge disappointment. Did we complain... no since we really didn't want our precious Friday night being spoiled any further or dominated by citing our gripes with the Manager, and/or the Front-of-House Staff & especially since they all appeared far more interested in most indiscreetly, exchanging & making comments about the Customers as they flowed past the reception desk & air kissing, if not the behinds of those whom appeared to be "Regulars!" Frankly, we were just happy to get out of there! Would we return; no, there are better Restaurants providing more superior cuisine & service within the vicinity. To be fair though, our designated Waitress, Annie was exemplary; attentive, polite, cheery & just lovely, for which she should be commended, although the Manager & the Front-Of-House Staff would do well to follow Annie's outstanding example of customer service.

Food was poor on the whole. The chicken skewer starter was raw, which was promptly replaced with another pink skewer. Moreover, the flat iron steak (which was advertised as served medium) was extremely overcooked. My experience was probably a one off given the testimony of others, but disappointing none the less.

A large group for a business dinner was well handled. I thoroughly enjoyed my tandoori chicken skewer starter, navarin of lamb for mains and New York baked cheesecake for dessert, accompanied by a delicious glass of French Pinot Noir.

Eaten here once with my wife.
Managed to get a table with easily enough but had to go in person to book it, as there web booking system said they were fully booked.
Met a waiter who I've previously encountered in Macclesfield using an Italian accent, now he's here trying a Spanish one!!
Service was excellent and the food was too, didn't have to wait long.
We sat upstairs with a clear view of the kitchen and didn't hear a microwave ping once!
Joined up to the loyalty scheme where you get £20 of bar credit, but be careful as it expires quite soon afterwards.
Can defiantly recommend this place on the strength of its food and service.
No real ale though.....
