“Awful room. Noisy, cramped and worn out”
Reviewed 23 July 2014 via mobile

This is so far from normal Premier Inn standard. Room I had was a disgrace. It was so cramped, how the hotel has the cheek to sell this as a double room is beyond me. Shower old and awful. Won't be going back. This is not the first time I have stayed and each time the room has been substandard. This however was the worst

Not hot water for ages in sink
Bathroom door that nearly knocks you out every time you enter
Damp on the outside wall that looked terrible and needed to redecorate before letting the room again
Holes in the bedsheets

Our bathroom was not cleaned by the staff. They had taken the dirty towels and not replaced with clean towels. No toilet roll replaced. Shower gel empty on arrival and then not replaced. Bathroom fittings falling off the wall. Very noisy from the traffic outside the room despite closing the window and bathroom room (which was not ideal due to the high temparature). Only 2 power sockets, so difficult to work on my laptop or charge myc electronics. No air conditioning. In the morning the cleaner was cleaning other rooms with the door open and the TV/radio played very loud.
After passing on the feedback to the reception staff they said sorry but did not even mention the 'Good night Gaurantee'. I left very dissapointed and could not even be bothered to argue as I felt the staff didnt really care.

We stayed here on a Thursday just as a stopover en route to a short break. We only paid the £29 room only fee as part of one of Premier Inn's £29 room promotions, although I always find it hard to find one on the appropriate night for such a price, although this time I fell lucky as our further destination hotel was booked for the Friday.
The Premier Inn has an adjoining pub called the 'De Trafford Arms', which is a one of the 'Chef and Brewer' chain pubs(all part of the same company with adjoining doors).
The car park is quite roomy and when checking in you get a free car park pass for your vehicle, which I really think is a good deal as with some Premier Inn's we have stayed at previously we have been charged for the car park.
The hotel is very handily placed on the Congleton Road and it is only a short stroll to the Town Centre, Shops and bars.
We did not have a breakfast the next morning, I thought the prices were quite expensive, nor did we eat there in the evening. We did however have a drink that evening in the De Trafford Arms, where a pint of Birra Moretti ager and a small 125ml glass of red wine came to around £8.50, whereas we got the same at a wine bar in the town for around £7.00.
Premier Inn offer a 'Good nights sleep guarantee' and the bed was quite comfortable but I did not like either of their pillows (but at least you had a choice of two different firmness's).
The room was clean and tidy, although a little on the small side.
The only criticism was that the kettle they used to have had previously had a base that was screwed to the top of the drawer unit. The kettle had obviously broke at some point and been replaced with a new model that did not fit this base, but they left the old base in situ instead of taking it away. So instead of screwing down the new base the new kettle and base went alongside it, so there was not a lot of free space on top of those drawers.
The staff were very pleasant and we must have bumped into the Manager on about 8 occasions. He was there when we arrived at 3pm, still there at Midnight and was also on the reception desk at 8am the next morning.
We would definitely consider staying here again if in this locality.

Stayed at the Premier Inn Alderley Edge on the 12th July, with my partner, greeted by Patty who had just started her shift, mubbled away whilst using the computer, I thought she was talking to me but alas it was her collegue in the small office, we eventually did sign in, a smile would have been nice. The room was small, the bed took up most of the room, the bathroom was very small, you had to close the door to stand at the sink, the extractor fan did not work, and only one bath towel and one hand towel, I had booked this room for two people weeks ago, also only two tea bags, two sugars and milk, so only enough for one cup of tea each during your stay !!!.
Met my son and his wife in the bubble room bar in town, very nice and relaxing, then went for a meal at Gustos, very good, great food and atmosphere, the service was execellent. After our meal we decided to go back to the De Trafford arms which is shared with the Premier Inn, not many people in for 10.15pm on a Saturday night, the staff were miserable, the manager started cashing up at 10.30pm, we got our last drink at 10.40pm whilst my son phoned for a taxi for himself and his wife. They rang the bell at 11.00pm sharp and everything had dissapeared from the bar, the staff then started wiping the tables down, and the cleaner arrived and started to vacuum the floors, a resident walked in at a couple of minutes later and was told in no uncertain terms that the bar was shut and no drinks were being served even to residents, a couple of minutes later another resident came down and and asked to purchase a bottle of water, again met with the same reply, he was not happy. A few minutes later one of the bar men asked us if we would move to another table so as he could wipe our table down, this took the biscuit and we refused to a look of utter dismay from the barman, luckily my sons taxi arrived a few minutes later, we said our goodbyes and walked past the cleaner nearly tripping over the electric cables as he busily vacuumed away. We did not take breakfast there but instead went down to the local cafe which was full at 10.15am and a nice friendly staff and good atmosphere... Do not go to this Premier Inn if you want a nice comfortable stay, and please do not go to the De Trafford Arms if you want a nice friendly atmosphere on a Saturday night.

Stayed in The Premier Inn in Alderley Edge on a business trip. A nice hotel near really nice surroundings and a big Waitrose if you need to get yourself any shopping in. The staff are really nice and helpful however sometimes the service is very slow but understandable because of the busy bar that they have. De Trafford Arms is a lovely pub with a friendly atmosphere!
