“The Huntsman : Excellent B&B”
Reviewed 7 May 2014

We stayed here for two nights and this B&B is in a great location if visiting the Alton Towers. The owners Kieran and Conor made us both very welcome.
Great food for breakfast, either cooked or croissants, yoghurt and cereal.
The rooms are spacious, and just what you need for relaxing after a long day travelling or enjoying yourself.
We choose this B&B because of the excellent reviews on Trip Advisor and it is only15mins by car from Alton Towers.
It is also 15mins walking distance into town.
We would recommend this B&B and we will be back

A friend and I stayed at the Huntsman for two nights to visit family and to have a trip to Alton Towers. We were welcomed with a big smile and asked how our journey was.The rooms are a great size, very clean with great comfy beds. Breakfast was also included with our stay. We were offered continental and a fried option for breakfast and the choice of which time we would like breakfast at. We also had dinner both nights in the pub the food is great and all homemade. the chef uses local produce from the farm across the road and each day there is a variety of specials on offer and the prices are very reasonable. The pub is great, cosy and very welcoming serving a great selection of different ales which we were kindly offered to try. The landlords Kieran and Conor and their staff are very friendly and both nights the pub was busy with locals. The Huntsman is a great and friendly local B&B very close to Alton Towers overall we had a rare (great) stay!

Having had a long fun day at Alton towers we were glad to check in at the Huntsman. On arrival we were greeted by a smile and a welcome, but were informed due to a problem with laundry service we had no clean sheets on our beds however within half an hour this was sorted out and problem solved. Room was basic but homely, clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast next morning was both continental and a fry, you can choose either or both. The fry was very good with lovely herby sausages. U can also choose what time u would like breakfast which is nice as we were leaving early to return to Alton Towers. Dinner food is of a high standard considering it is pub food. It is fresh and cooked to order- so be prepared to wait a while- it is worth it. I chose pie and pint costing 6.95. Pie was lovely as were the home made chips. I was unsure which local ale to try- they have a good election, so was offered the chance to taste test them which was a nice touch. Staff and owners are good natured and were happy to chat to us. All in all a well priced, homely, local pub/b &b. Good food and service. Should we return to Alton towers we will return. Vincent and Nicola. Co. Donegal

Stayed here for two nights as visiting Alton Towers, and this B&B is in a great location if visiting the Park. The owners and staff were incredibly friendly and we were always made to feel welcome, with great service at any time of the day. Great food for breakfast, either cooked or croissants, yoghurt and cereal (or both!) and lovely pub dinners available, with a good atmosphere. The rooms are spacious, and just what you need for relaxing after a long day travelling or enjoying yourself. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in this area.

really friendly owners, the two brothers made us feel very welcome, food service was excellent and the staff were very helpful. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone to stay over especially on a Sunday as there is a pub quiz on that we really enjoyed. I will definitely stay here again.

I stayed here with my best man and close friends the night before my wedding. The landlords were brilliant nothing was to much trouble. The rooms were a good size and the only sound was from people in the room snoring.
The breakfast the next day was lovely, full English with cereal, croissants and fruit all available. Couldn't have asked for anything more.
Thank you Kieran and Connor
