This was my second visit to this hotel. On my previous visit in August 2010 I stayed with 3 lady friends for a spa break and thoroughly enjoyed it, so I decide to rebook this hotel and bring my daughter(24) for a birthday treat.
i booked online and got a fabulous price for spa package which included bed, breakfast, lunch and a spa treatment.
On arival our room was not ready so we decide to have lunch and a swim whilst our room was being prepared. The 2 course lunch was very nice the food was of an excellent standard and we thoroughly enjoyed it along with a few coktails.
We eventually got our room at around 3pm and was pleasantly surprise by the size of room and the large leather sofa in the lounge area. my daughter was taken abak by the room as it was definitely 4*.
We returned to the spa and enjoyed our massages very much the complimentary bathrobes and slippers were a lovely touch and we were able to keep these on whilst wandering between the swimming pool? spa area and our room.
We were allocated £25 each for dinner and managed a starter and main course with ease and could possibily had a dessert, but alas the food was so tasty and filling we could not manage one.
After dinner we went for a wander around the old hall and was completely in awe of the surroundings(a pleasant hour was had wandering around in the atmospheric candle-light).
After a good nights sleep in comfy beds we decided to spend another hour in the spa area/swimming pool prior to breakfast and finished our stay off nicely.
I will definitely be returning for a third stay as it is one of the nicest most relaxing places I have stayed in.
