I am not sure how to rate such a beautiful hotel with a few flaws?
Check-in - quick, efficient but not completely warm. Felt like the receptionist didn't want to be there & going back on the Internet was more interesting. The porter / doorman was extremely helpful.
Dinner was extremely good - food, wine & service. A well-trained team - professional, knowledgable, very pleasant!
Room - clean, comfortable bed, but seemed like there was a missing bed-side lamp and reading lights didn't stay in place. Couldn't read in bed.
Breakfast - good choice on the buffet but terrible coffee & scrambled eggs.
The first pot poured with a 'tea' scum on the surface of the coffee. Had the impression that the pot was used for tea previously and coffee just pour in without being washed. I asked this to be changed and the new pot poured muddy-looking coffee.
The eggs did not look appetising and there were very oily.
They need to be trained like the dinner team.
Check-out - Quick and efficient.
Overall - A great location with serene surroundings. Enjoyed the history of the place. Dinner experience was great.
Would have given a higher rating, as 3.5 was not available.More
