Three generations on a boat. What a way to spend October half term . Wonderful when you have Andersen Boats. Fjord Emperor is a super boat all mod cons. Warm and cosy central heating and heated towel rails. Loads of hot water and a great shower with a seat. Comfy beds. If you have wet coats there is a warm air drying room too. Our weather was mixed but we did sit out on the deck chairs. The countryside was beautiful autumn colours and great reflections in the water. The flat screen TV/DVD was really useful when it rained and in the evening. The children loved the tunnels and the ducks and swans. They had their own space too. We found that everyone looked at the boat as we went along. So come on Autumn is great on an Andersen Boat

We have just returned from a great weeks cruising on the canals of Cheshire and North Wales, using an Andersen narrow boat. The guys at Andersen where welcoming, helpful and very accommodating to our needs. We saw many a boater in strife with their hire craft on our travels either through poor instruction or poor equipment, but we just 'sailed' through. In fact we had many comments of how good our boat was in comparison to more expensive firms! Always choose Andersen boats and you will receive satisfaction and value-for-money. A proper family-run business. Well Done all and see you next time!!

We recently hired Oslo Fjord in October having hired from Andersen boats 3 times in the past.
Even near the end of the season the boat was in perfect condition, the same as the first time we took her out on her maiden hire voyage 4 years ago. Even while we were out someone on a hire boat from another company asked us about Andersens because the boat looked so nice.

The Andersen family and staff are very welcoming and friendly and do everything to make sure your holiday gets off to a good start even down to finding an iPod lead for the on-board radio!

Andersen boats are well positioned for a multitude of route options including Cheshire and four-counties rings, Shropshire union and Llangollen canals. I'm sure the Andersens would help you choose the right route if needed!

Despite being a Monday to Monday hire, we brought the boat back on Sunday without any problems.

I would have no hesitation in hiring from Ansderen boats again!

What a fantastic weekend get-together with 7 girls on the canals of Cheshire thanks to the Anderson Boat Team. We were so grateful for the detailed induction and accompanied help through the first 4 locks then off we went solo through the beautiful countryside for a very cheery, fun break (as you can see from the photos!!).

We left Middlewich on Friday and returned to the boat yard for an overnight stay again on Sunday before handing the boat over at 0930 on Monday. Between 7 of us this worked out to be only about £100 each which included all extras (fuel, insurance etc.). On our first night we moored in a quiet spot for a night on board and good old catch up with lots of food and drink then we moved onto Nantwich on Saturday morning having watched a beautiful sunrise over the rural countryside. Nantwich is a pretty town and definately worth a visit. On Sunday we stopping at Bridge 14 on the way back and had a short walk to the fantastic Badger Inn for Sunday lunch which was amazing! Sunday night was not so tranquil after we all donned our old merchant navy officer uniforms for a trip down nostalgia canal!

The boat was very well equipped with excellent storage and it was spotlessly clean. The beds were comfortable and the shower was adequate. Steering it took a little getting used to and we did make a couple of bumps along the way but we soon got the hang of it and everyone on the waterways offered us help or support from their boats which was really reassuring.

If you take a weekend trip just look out on the maps for 70" turning points as this wasn't mentioned to us at our induction but thankfully someone did ask us along the route where we planned to turn around - a good question really as we hadn't even considered that minor detail!!

Overall, this was a fantastically fun and very reasonably inexpensive trip, having spent more time than anticipated onboard enjoying our own food and drink. A brilliant weekend for friends and family to get together and get away from it all.

Andersens are a family firm so that means you get that extra level of service.... More bedding? no problem! A longer lead for the dog while its on the deck? No problem..... We hired a great boat that was clean, warm, and had everything we needed for the holiday, as well as a welcoming bottle of wine and a vase of fresh roses, such a nice touch! The base at Middlewich gave us lots of options in terms of where we wanted to travel (we decided to head for Llangollen). After a brief induction we set off and we got used to the handling of the boat surprisingly quickly.
One of the best aspects of the holiday was that everything was included in a flat rate, that included CDW and fuel as well as the dog! Something that all the other hire companies charge extra for!
Highly recommended!
