The hotel is old - the listed buildings are around 400 years old. While this makes it an interesting place to visit and stay in it does impose some limitations. There is no lift and the stairs can be 'different' - there are very few square surfaces in the hotel!

The room was comfortable. The bathroom adequate. The mattress might be approaching the end of its life though.

The on-site restaurant (Casa Brasserie) provided a good meal at reasonable cost. We did not try the bar food.

Breakfast was good on the first morning and adequate on the second. It would be advisable to state exactly what food you want - portions seem to vary from day to day. (For example, bacon sausage tomato and egg resulted in two slices of bacon, two sausages one day but only one of each the second.)

Helpful staff.

This is a wedding venue. If you want a quiet room it would be advisable to tell them this up front.

Service was poor.
We were given a menu but not told about the Sunday Roast.
Waitress seemed more interested in her "regulars".
Dirty fork. Food to a long time to arrive.
Good when it did.
Not friendly. Bar staff said goodbye, but waitress/ front of house did not seem to be bothered.

At first things look great, beautiful building in the centre of town, then it all goes down hill! Horrible atmosphere, the staff obviously dont care and are EXTREEMLY rude. Food terrible and i mean really awful, and way overpriced for the rubbish you get! And generally it was dirty, tables were sticky (we know because we moved to several befor we gave up and just sat at a sticky one) and the toilets were an experience aswel. Nantwich has much more to offer than this!

I have experienced many hotels in my life and only walked out of one - this one. When we walked into the 'reception area' I knew. This hotel needs a makeover. The room we were offered was shabby, grubby and smelly, and what is worse the member of staff couldn't see it.I spoke to the manager who informed me that the rooms had electricity and gas, and I'm sure that I should have been impressed by this! However and to his credit he offered to arrange alternative accommodation for us at the Premier Inn.
Please be aware that this is an olde worlde hotel with olde worlde attitudes, olde worlde service and olde worlde smells. DON'T stay here.It is the owners who are culpable and not the staff.

Ive eaten here in the past and I was very dissappointed then but my partner wanted to try the new menu. The table wasnt ready on arrival even though we had booked we had to wait half an hour for our table, not a good start. The starters were very expensive for the size of them and not very tasty either, not worth the £7-8.00 each and the mains, well what can i say terrible no taste and bland, the chef needs to learn how to season food, neither of us were happy with choices. The staff were there but were not really waiting on tables and it seemed to be a hassle for them to bring anything. Quite oddly 2 waitress came to our table whilst we were eating to tell us they were finishing their shifts and heading home, what did they expect a tip whilst we were eating!!!!! I dont think we will be trying this for a third time. Nantwich has so many nice restaurants why eat here.

Went to a do at this hotel over the weekend. Surroundings are lovely. Place nice and clean. Food was not up to much. Poor variety and served by miserable staff who had mixed up meat products with vegetarian products. A no go for vegetarians and not expected at a place like this. Bar staff were ignorant and cocky. Quite a few other people said how rude the staff were at this venue. If you want reasonably priced accommodation this is the place for you as it is right in the town centre and near to bars and restaurants and the accommodation is very clean.

Attended for a wedding, the building is insane. Upon entry you see a round glass room thing like something off Harry Potter, the staircases are very dangerous but its all character I guess. We checked in and had some food, lovely. We were told our rooms were ready but my parents room hadn't been seen to, the cleaner was dressed in sports gear running round like a loon.

The wedding reception was fantastic, the function room was beautiful and we had a fantastic evening, the food was delicious and the staff were fantastic. Rooms weren't up to scratch, VERY old fashioned and off smelling. Outside my room was a mop and bucket full of dirty water.

Breakfast was a big let down but the staff work fab with what they have.
