Visited on a beautifully sunny day. Went around the boat lift and then walked along the canal both ways - very enjoyable.
Love this place makes living in Cheshire real special place as its only one in country still in operation I think. Nice to vidit go gift shop buy nice souvenir, and go cafe have drink cake.
Interesting day out, really good how you learn history of the boat lift, nice to go on boat trip up the river weaver. Nice to enjoy refreshments in cafe with friendly staff
Nice area ,beautiful walks along the river weaver with lovely countryside.
easy to find ,parking is around £2 for three hours.
The boat lift flatters to decieve, and the restaurant is not cheap.
But for the walks alone well worth a visit.
We had a lovely time on the Santa Cruise. I booked for me and my little girl and my friends from Nottingham. Very well organised. Friendly staff. We then enjoyed a snack in the café. Again, friendly staff. I LOVED the free craft area for the children. Fab idea. Thanks for a wonderful time. Will be back on a normal day in the new year!
An attraction to please a wide age group. Interactive displays, film of the history of the lift, a children's playground and,for an aadditional charge boat trips along the River Weaver.
There is a cafe if you should feel peckish and close by is the Stanley Arms which serves more substantial meals at reasonable prices. Combined with a trip to the nearby Lion Salt Works and/or the salt museum in Northwich a full day out with the family can be enjoyed
