Spent 2 nights as this establishment and although the rooms are never going to win any prizes for facilities they are sufficiently equipped to give you a bed for the night, a shower and a hot drink which is pretty much all you need. Our room was tired (especially the bathroom) but it was clean which is more important when we travel.
The saving grace for this hostelry is the restaurant as it may not win Michelin stars it serves a good selection of food which is plentiful and more importantly served HOT which so many restaurants fail to achieve.
The breakfast was also excellent with a good selection, quick service and one of the tastiest sausages I have ever eaten. The Inn itself serves well kept ales but could do with some background music as it was a bit soulless in the evenings which wouldn't be a problem in the summer as it has a lovely outside area/garden which is secure should you have children with you.
Overall this is a good value for money establishment and I would recommend it to anyone visiting the Northwest.

We stayed at The Holly Bush Inn for 4 nights with our 4 month old baby. Everything was wonderful. The staff were friendly, accommodating and couldn't do enough for us. The food was amazing - breakfast was excellent value and evening meals were really tasty. All staff the were lovely - really helpful, especially with our baby. The Beer Garden was a lovely place to sit in the evening sunshine. The children's play equipment and bouncy castle were great and were well organised so that if you wanted a quite drink away from children then there was still plenty of space. We will definitely be staying here again. Highly recommended.

Had a really lovely meal at the Holly bush. The staff and the landlady and landlord were very friendly and welcoming and couldn't do enough to ensure my mum and I had a great time. I will definitely be going back to this Inn and will be recommending it to all of my friends.

The building has recently been refurbished and it has been carried out in a manner sympathetic to the age and character of the building - lovely!

Had a 2 night stay here and although slightly disappointed by the decor which needs updating the rooms are clean and the staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful to make our stay a happy one. The food was great with a wide choice of traditional pub grub with huge portions, I would recommend to friends and relatives.
