“MY DAUGHTERS BIG DAY”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 January 2014

This hotel was booked for 30th Dec and new years eve 2013 for my daughters wedding. The hotel is set in the most amazing grounds which is excellent for wedding photos and having a walk round.
The staff were amazing especially the usher (think he was called Norman ) a true gent. The food was amazing and the work the staff put in to make my daughters day was second to none they couldn't do enough for anyone there.

A truly memorable stay

Room Tip: All rooms were excellent we had an upgrade to a suite which was amazing looking out over the lake

In a lovely setting, surrounded by small lakes, Nunsmere Hall is a real gem. Quiet but traditionally elegant, with a calm but welcoming atmosphere. The other lunchers were dressed informally or there for a business lunch. The drinks were accompanied by very good olives and nuts. We chose wine by the glass to allow something different with each course, and it was good value. The wine list was varied while still including the classics.
The food was very imaginative and delicious, My wife's starter of beetroot cured smoked salmon was beautifully presented. We chose fish for our mains, crusted cod and seabass. The flavours of the accompanying ingredients were wonderful showing great freshness and control.
The puddings were delightful, pannacotta with passsionfruit jelly and merinques, while I had a great chocolate experience.
Amazing value at £24 for 3 courses and you can choose 2 courses only.
Very good service and it was pleasing to see some mature customers being welcomed for afternoon tea as we left.

We went to Nunsmere Hall Hotel for a wedding on the 20th of December, everything was perfect!
Melvyn greeted us with style, we all managed to check in before the ceremony, the food was excellent, the rooms were nice, big and very clean, the band on the evening was very good. It was really the perfect place for a wedding and just makes me want to go back for another occasion!
Well done to the staff for their hard work!

I stayed at the hotel with my daughter & granddaughter on Christmas Eve. The hotel is a magnificent building full of character & stunning gardens, set in the Cheshire countryside. In the evening the guests gathered together for carol singing in the large hall way, which was decked out with a huge Christmas tree & tasteful decorations. We were accompanied by an amazing local choir & were served the nicest mulled wine I have ever tasted. This traditional celebration of Christmas Eve was absolutely magical & tear jerking. The staff & manager could not have tried any harder to make our stay a fabulous experience. The room was immaculate, roomy & luxurious & the breakfast on Christmas Day was superb. In my opinion, 10 out of 10!

I brought my wonderful friend to have afternoon tea to celebrate her Birthday and we were the only people in the Library. The fire was lit for us and my friend said she felt like a duchess. All of the staff couldn't have been more welcoming if they tried. Nothing was too much trouble. The food and drink absolutely delicious and the décor and atmosphere magical. (The Christmas decorations were up and were outstanding. If you want to treat someone to a very special experience, come here. The staff are attentive but not at all intrusive.

My wife and I attended a wedding reception and our first visit to Nunsmere Hall Hotel for this event was extremely enjoyable. We found the hotel to be in a lovely environment standing in extensive gardens with a huge lake. The interior was beautiful, originally the home of a shipping magnate from the 1920's, and very tastefully furnished. Our bedroom, although one of the cheaper rooms was an excellent size with a large ensuite. The staff were brilliant, very organised but not obtrusive. I could not really find fault with this hotel and would certainly stay there again and would recommend it to anyone visiting this area of Cheshire.

I have stayed at Nunsmere on numerous occasions as my work offices are close by. The staff are friendly and helpful and always willing to go the extra mile. The rooms are amazing, clean and probably have one of the most comfortable beds I have ever stayed in. I would definitely recommend sampling the restaurant as the food is outstanding as is the service. If you want a quiet peaceful break away this is the place to go.
