My boyfriend and I stayed here for our anniversary for one night using a Travelzoo dining deal, although due to availability we had to upgrade our room to a Junior suite. This made it an expensive stay, but our room was lovely (Elm) with a four poster bed and gorgeous big bath and separate shower and our own walk in wardrobe room. The staff were all incredibly accommodating and despite being a gluten free vegetarian, I enjoyed the most amazing 5 course meal without any side effects and, for once, I didn't envy what was on my partner's plate! We even took the two hotel Labradors for a walk the following morning. Only thing missing was a swimming pool. I would definitely recommend - especially if for more special occasions,

Visited Nunsmere on a Travel Zoo Dining deal and decided to have an overnight stay - very pleased we did. The room (Orchid) had the 'wow factor'. It was very spacious, spotlessly clean and full of character, with a huge comfy bed. The dining experience was superb with professional, friendly, unpretentious staff, who obviously had pride in the hotel, as when we remarked to one of the waiters what a beautiful building the hotel was, he told us how old it was and spoke about the features of the dining room. The meal was beautifully presented and delicious, as was breakfast. Special thanks to 'Marvellous Melvyn', who greeted us as though we were royalty as soon as we pulled up in the driveway, carried our bag (sorry it was so heavy - never go anywhere without the kitchen sink, even for one night!) and told us all about the area and the available walks. There was no problem leaving the car the next day while we went for a walk - it was such a lovely day and we wanted to make the most of it. When we returned a few hours later, Melvyn even came out to see us and asked how we'd got on and if we had enjoyed ourselves. We have a family celebration later this year and will certainly consider having it at Nunsmere, but think we will be back again before this! Thank you all for a memorable experience.

Arriving late on a dark December afternoon the welcoming atmosphere was immediately apparent. Our room was very comfortable in all aspects. Our group of four couples were very well looked after from the pre-dinner drinks to the really excellent food finishing with coffee in front of a blazing fire all intelligently served with a smile. Breakfast had been thoughtfully laid round a large table so that we could continue our gathering until we left. Our only quibble - and nothing is ever quite perfect - was with the breakfast bacon which we felt was not really up to scratch. Nevertheless, we all left with the feeling that we had found an ideal place for our annual get-together.

An afternoon tea at this typical country house hotel. The only guests in the dining room, we were treated to a most enjoyable freshly prepared spread of sandwiches, scones and cake- with real tea- not tea bags! Service was casual but friendly and it seemed the sort of place to enjoy a quiet retreat. We will probably be tempted to try them for a formal lunch or dinner with granny.

We booked our daughter’s wedding at Nunsmere Hall Hotel on Saturday 28th December 2013. We always thought we had made the right decision but it wasn’t till the day arrived and that we knew there was no better place.
Set within the Cheshire Countryside you enter the long drive to arrive at the stunning hotel. We arrived 30 cars strong to be greeted by “Melvin” a true gentleman. He helped all our guests with their luggage from their cars and then took us individually to our rooms.
Our guests were guided into the Lounge Area for a Champagne Reception with Canapés followed by our Wedding Breakfast consisted of Goats Cheese, Fillet of Beef & Crème Brûlée The Head Chef Craig Malone did an outstanding job! Every meal was presented perfectly, piping hot and more importantly delicious
The bedrooms at Nunsmere are a definite wow factor. They are large in size, comfortable and the views over the gardens are exquisite.
The whole day went smoothly and I would recommend hiring the hotel exclusively for your big day.
On a wedding day I believe there are 3 things you remember about the day, the venue, the food & the entertainment. My guests and I will certainly never forget Nunsmere for giving my daughter the day of her dreams

This hotel was booked for 30th Dec and new years eve 2013 for my daughters wedding. The hotel is set in the most amazing grounds which is excellent for wedding photos and having a walk round.
The staff were amazing especially the usher (think he was called Norman ) a true gent. The food was amazing and the work the staff put in to make my daughters day was second to none they couldn't do enough for anyone there.

A truly memorable stay

Room Tip: All rooms were excellent we had an upgrade to a suite which was amazing looking out over the lake

In a lovely setting, surrounded by small lakes, Nunsmere Hall is a real gem. Quiet but traditionally elegant, with a calm but welcoming atmosphere. The other lunchers were dressed informally or there for a business lunch. The drinks were accompanied by very good olives and nuts. We chose wine by the glass to allow something different with each course, and it was good value. The wine list was varied while still including the classics.
The food was very imaginative and delicious, My wife's starter of beetroot cured smoked salmon was beautifully presented. We chose fish for our mains, crusted cod and seabass. The flavours of the accompanying ingredients were wonderful showing great freshness and control.
The puddings were delightful, pannacotta with passsionfruit jelly and merinques, while I had a great chocolate experience.
Amazing value at £24 for 3 courses and you can choose 2 courses only.
Very good service and it was pleasing to see some mature customers being welcomed for afternoon tea as we left.
