“A perfect evening”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 June 2014

We had a most enjoyable evening at Nunsmere Hall. We were welcomed by a very cheerful receptionist who showed us to the Bar where we sat and had nibbles and a pre dinner drink. The dinner that followed did not disappoint- the food was delicious and our waiter Greg was very attentive. We would not hesitate to recommend for a really special night out.

Today is the third time we have visited Nunsmere. Although we have so far only eaten here we have been so impressed with the place, food and staff each time. We will definitely make a point of staying here in the future. Staff could not be more polite and helpful and Melvyn is an absolute star. I personally think it is a gem and perfect for any occasion. I would be amazed if anyone had a negative word to say about the place.

We had the most amazing experience at Nunsmere Hall for our wedding! It was truly magical, the staff were outstanding and Keeley was perfect for helping us organise everything, calm, professional, efficient, experienced and the whole thing was so easy and enjoyable to organise from start to finish. We attended the wedding fayre held at Nunsmere shortly after booking and decided to go with the people who were at the fayre as they were all experienced with working at Nunsmere and their products and services were outstanding. Supa Dupa Cakes, Living Colour (flowers) and Flossies (stationary), Notable Music. Basically we didn't have to lift a finger, we left it all to the professionals and they were wonderful! The days around the wedding and our big day itself went like an absolute dream, our guests were welcomed and looked after and we were so impressed with the warm, friendly, professional air throughout. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt so at home. The food was out of this world, again throughout the whole stay and in particular on our wedding day. The fillet steak came out perfectly, even the vegetarians were impressed with their meals. Thank you again to Nunsmere, our wedding was all we could have dreamed for and much much more. Many of our guests said it was the best wedding they'd ever been to. First class! Thank you for everything. Mr & Mrs Davis x

Called in on a sunny afternoon for drinks and food. The grounds are beautiful and well landscaped. Lots of wildlife running about the place without fear. Staff gave us a tour of the building which was previously a family home owned by the Brocklebanks. They have a marquee available for bigger functions. It was a beautiful summer day and sitting in the grounds was a delight and very private. Staff were excellent and knowledgeable. Will be returning.

Room Tip: try a sunday afternoon, some good last minute deals.

My wife and I stayed there for a wedding in a nearby hotel and wished we could have enjoyed more of the Nunsmere's facilities. Delightful setting, very friendly staff and excellent breakfast. We stayed in a groundfloor suite which was clean, spacious and well laid out. Sleep quality was excellent. We hope to have a dedicated stay there soon.

We stayed at Nunsmere for two nights for wedding. On arrival, we were very impressed by the welcome we received from Melvyn. It was so nice to be taken to our room with our bags carried. Our room was spacious and very comfortable although a little on the hot side.

In terms of a wedding venue, we were very impressed by the beautiful rooms in the hotel and the lovely gardens. The only little problem we noticed was that the service from the serving staff was not great. They were very friendly and attentive when they helped, but it was difficult to find people to ask for things and when we did, the service was very slow. On the Sunday morning, breakfast was particularly slow, it took about 30 minutes to receive some toast. It seemed that the hotel was slightly understaffed for such a large wedding group which slowed things down a lot and was a shame.

Overall, we had a lovely stay though and would go back if we were ever in the area.

We only stopped off for coffee but were very impressed with the hotel - this impression was helped along by Melvyn, the front of house character, who welcomed us in.
We picked up a Christmas brochure on the strength of his welcome and will give this serious consideration.
