We'd heard good things about the hotel and overall we really enjoyed our stay. Hotel is nicely decorated - modern but with historic cues. Rooms were small but tasteful and comfortable (athough walls too thin - too much sound was present from adjacent rooms). Only downside was a bathroom door in frosted glass with no lock and a massive gap down the side - come on Grosvenor - that's a basic! Compared to our expectations we were slightly disappointed with the pool/jacuzzi/sauna area (we only used the facilities - didn't have any treatments) - nice enough and did the job but feeling a bit dated, tired and not as special as the "Spa" description and Grosvenor name would suggest. There were about six loungers which is nothing for a hotel of this size and as my wife pointed out, although it didn't bother us as we weren't there for that, if you'd expected to be able to lounge for hours with a book by the pool the high likelihood is that you couldn't. On the other hand though, the Palm Court restaurant where we ate dinner and breakfast was nicer than we'd expected. Beautifully decorated with loads of plants, lovely sofas where you have a drink before/after your meal, a live pianist who really added to the atmosphere and lovely food and drinks all made our night really nice. At breakfast though (which was nice enough) they are desprately missing a second coffee machine - always a long queue for a cuppa which seemed unnecessary in a place of this standard. Overall for the price we found it good value and would return.

Love this hotel - we went for a 1 night stay for our Anniversary. We were complimentary upgraded to a superior room with a seating area with a sofa, robes and slippers, bottled water and snacks.
The receptionist was very polite, helpful, professional and friendly. Did not get her name but she had a Geordie accent.
An anniversary card and two small cakes were left on a plate with “Happy Anniversary” piped on it, this was left in the room for when we arrived, which was a very thoughtful touch and very much appreciated.
We had a meal in Nelson’s bar in the evening and again they brought us two small cakes after the meal on a plate with Happy Anniversary on the plate.
The spa area is gorgeous and the spa treatments are wonderful.
All in all one of my favourite hotels

Room tip: Enjoy a spa treatment they are well worth it as there is a lovely spa area at this hotel.

After staying here during a wedding in 2023, we wanted to revisit and see what the place had to offer, as we was impressed the 1st time, but how disappointed we are this time around. We arrived at the hotel @3pm to be told there are no robes in our room to enjoy the spa, but they would be with us in 2 hours. We had a reservation in the restaurant @ 6pm which meant our time relaxing in the pool etc… would have been rushed before we have the time to get ready to dine. We went to the pool anyway, and the spa receptionists are quite unapproachable, and it was very awkward asking for towels. I opened a locker to store my cloths and there was a used nappy in the locker. On the plus side the restaurant moved our reservation allowing us more time to enjoy the spa which was great. The food was beautifully presented but lacked in taste, but the service was superb. Even getting back to our room after dinner, still no robes for the morning. We probably won’t come back, as there are better restaurants local to us, but the dining experience was probably the only thing keeping this place going.

Room tip: Spa and pool is not what you would expect. Over rated

We had our wedding here in February 2024. They did a good deal for their package in the Grosvenor suite. It went just perfectly and we will never forget our special day.

Emma, the wedding co-ordinator, met with us several times and was incredibly friendly and professional throughout the planning process. On the day of the wedding, the hotel wedding team led by Alistair and Rose did a wonderful job at keeping the day running on time and without any issues. We essentially had to do no organisational work on the day, and were kept directed and informed at all times. The hotel and bar staff were friendly and they really thought about details; they even had a cold drinks ready for us to celebrate as we exited the ceremony room. I will always remember our beautiful ceremony, the glamour of the hotel, and the great time all of our friends & family had with us.

Special mention that the food is just fantastic. Everyone was very impressed with the quality of the three-course meal. They also catered for our vegan meals and other dietary requirements with no extra charge or fuss. Everyone who we talked to afterwards told us that we'd made the right choice of venue and how much better it was than other hotel weddings they had attended.

We also had the most beautiful pictures in the gardens in the hotel grounds. There are two gardens each with small lakes and a bridge over each one that made for stunning couples photographs (courtesey of the very talented Jason Howard photography).

The hotel itself is lovely. We stayed in the premium suite, which we paid for one night and were given our wedding night as part of the package. The room was spacious, clean, and it had a lovely large and modern bathroom. All our family and friends that stayed at the hotel told us that they too had a wonderful stay. Many of them also loved the indoor pool (we didn't have time for that, though!).

We will be visiting here again for our wedding anniversary for years to come. Thank you to everyone at Grosvenor Pulford that made our wedding day a wonderful and cherished memory.

10 of us arrived for my daughter's bridal shower. The rooms were beautiful, bedding was very high quality. The restaurant, Palm Court was, as in the name, contemporary with a cosy feel and large palms around and between the tables. The food was generous, and exceptional. Service .. nothing too much trouble. To top it off there was a grand piano with a pianist who had a beautiful singing voice and a water feature which was just loud enough to not be intrusive. Highly recommended. Totally deserves 5/5.
