Members of Bowland Trec riding club just spent the weekend at Hill House Farm, some in the new lodge & some in the House B&B. The horses slept in the fields or stables. Catherine & Nick were so accommodating. The breakfast was one of the best I have tasted. Catherine made our evening meal too, this included TWO puddings!!

The Country Lodge is amazing & real luxury, under floor heating, log fire and tasteful decor

I cannot fault it and will be back very soon with more friends!

I stayed in the self catering cottage with a friend last weekend as part of a riding holiday. Spotless, well-equiped, delightful welcome and very comfortable. We didn't want to leave and will be back very soon. The views of the countryside from the windows in the morning were fantastic and the log burner for late night wine drinking was very cosy.

You do need a car, but there is parking just outside the cottage and Tarporley is only a 5-10min drive away.

Would book again, says it all really.
Plenty of car parking, nice rural / farm setting.
Advise to get your directions sorted before going, down a country lane and can easily wrong slot, especially when dark.
Great room, wifi, tv, fridge, facilities for making drinks, great comunal living room.
Nice and quiet
Great breakfast and superb choice.

Stayed here when booking a riding holiday. It was in the most beautiful scenery, lovely and quite just the odd cow breaking the peace! Our room was a twin and was spacious and wonderfully clean with a great view over looking their stables. Breakfast was amazing as were the hosts! Couldnt have asked for a better place to go to after a hard days riding.

We have just had a one night stay at Hill House Farm. We stayed in Chirk cottage which is self-contained but attached to the main house.
It was very peaceful with no noise at all apart from the birds during the night (and a fox I think!)
Really comfortable bedroom with bathroom on first floor. Good views over the surrounding countryside. Would have appreciated a radio in the bedroom but that is a minor quibble. Downstairs was a cosy sitting room/ kitchenette area with woodburner and flatscreen TV. Fridge to store the wine in too.
Excellent breakfast with good choices. Spacious sittingroom in main house. Very comfortable.
This B and B makes a good base to visit west Cheshire/Chester/ Manchester airport (40 minutes away).
We would stay again

Two of us and our little spaniel stayed in the two story self catering unit for two nights. It was very clean and spacious and had a welcoming wood fire when we arrived, and a beckoning four poster bed. There were lovely views over the fields, and great places to walk. The very solicitous owners made us feel most comfortable. The breakfast was delicious, with plenty of choice, and eggs from their own chickens. In our opinion, this is one of the top B and B's in the UK, and a great value

Room Tip: There are regular ensuite rooms as well as a self catering two story unit with a wood burning stove...

We happened upon Hill house farm when deciding to extend a day trip to Chester and wanted to find somewhere in the country to stay overnight. In short, a delightful property, even more delightful family, excellent location, highly recommended. If you decide to stay here, you'll be royally welcomed and treated well.
