“Gorgeous Gluten free Food and Beer”
Reviewed 11 June 2014

Went here for my wedding anniversary and have to say it was beautiful.
Relaxed atmosphere I didn't need to ask about gluten free options as it's marked on the menu.
Great tasting food and gluten free beer. Will defo be going back here with friends.

Booked large table, when arrived, our table was not ready, even though we arrived on time!. On arrival, met with a large dog inside the pub, which is not good, unhygienic. Waited over 1 hour for our starters (it was not busy). Ordered wine, but did not get any wine glasses. Had to go to bar to get them, even after asking for them. Asked waitress where our starters were, she said that they will be out in 2 minutes as the chef is just plating them. Got the starters 15 minutes later!!! When starters arrived, the scallops which were 9.50gbp each, were the smallest scallops in the world!!! not worth it at all, plus they were not great. We had to keep removing empty glasses from our table to make some room. The chips looked like and tasted like, chip shop chips, reheated after a night out. Not home cooked, and from a packet, and REHEATED!!!! When we left, our taxi driver said that he doesn't bring anyone to this pub anymore, as it has gone down hill, and I don't blame him. Having asked the 10 people that were in our party what they thought, everyone said that they would not come back. They need better trained staff, with at least some customer service skills, and a reality check. No welcome at all, and not even a thanks for spending 400 pounds. No tip was left, as not deserved (first time ever for me to not leave a tip).

Just happened to pass this pub in a beautiful setting last Sat 31st May. Beautiful evening & car park was full but found us a table. The waiting staff were lovely and the menu was good. The food was delicious & reasonably priced. Would def visit again.

“Thoughtful food”
Reviewed 30 May 2014

I'll do the good stuff. The village is picturesque, the welcome was warm and the food of a quality worthy of a really good pub. Even my fussy 6yr old said his pasta was very good - and there was plenty for him too. It was a very pleasant meal. My only feedback would be we arrived at 6pm to avoid the busier periods. Often when you have a small child ,some places do get that you need to be a bit quicker . Here we finished at 8 after a main and a dessert so would say just be aware of waiting times. Other than that though I was impressed and -the important bit -the food quality was excellent

“Excellent food and a warm welcome”
Reviewed 28 May 2014 via mobile

You could be forgiven for thinking that when you walk into some country pubs the staff let alone the regulars look at you as though you have two heads....well not here. We were made to feel very very welcome by the staff straight away. It was obvious we hadn't been in before and the staff recognised this guiding us through the way the food ordering and seating was arranged without us needing to ask. My wife had the sunday beef roast which was served pink just the way it should be and I had the chicken and chorizo pie which was very tasty. Could have had a little bit more chorizo for my taste but very nice indeed. Drinks were great and we had a very pleasant lunch. Highley recommended.
