- Baker's Dozen Course -

If you're looking for a crash course in basic domestic baking, this is a relaxed and friendly way to learn how to make a multitude of dishes, from mille feuille (yes, you do make your own creme pat) to fresh pasta.

Beautiful setting and plenty of wine to wash down your desserts. All in all, an enjoyable day with some lovely people.

We had the most amazing day with Philip - he taught us so many things it is hard to know where to start, cooking techniques, knife skills, fantastic recipes to cook. The day flew as it was so much fun.
He was so patient, interesting, inspiring and motivating.
We prepared our own desserts for our dinner during our stay at the Green Bough hotel - which was again another wonderful experience. It was luxurious and a real treat, but all the staff were very approachable, helpful and lovely!

I thoroughly enjoyed this one day course & learned many new skills. Phillip was very patient & took time to show us personally if we had a problem with any part of the dishes he was teaching us how to cook.
I would recommend this course in particular for a few friends to attend together as lunch is also included & is a lovely way to spend the day!

A brilliant day of cooking, we made over 14 dishes and I'm actually using the recipes at home. They do need to put an "A" board sign outside as I drove past it several times and nearly went home.

After finally getting a Saturday course in the diary we have just spent an excellent evening at the Green Bough Hotel together with evening meal and breakfast special rate package followed by the full day Tapas course at Cheshire Cooks just outside Tarporley.
On arrival we were given a warm welcome from Janice and our bags whisked away to our room, the Beeston deluxe bedroom which was very luxurious! Drinks on the roof terrace were followed by an excellent meal in the Olive Tree Restaurant. Philip was on hand to give good advice on wine paring and waiting on staff were very friendly and attentive. After a good nights sleep we were faced with the comprehensive breakfast menu with wonderful fresh fruits an Yoghurts followed by a choice of freshly prepared cooked breakfasts all made with high quality local produce.
A 25 minute drive took us to Mill Pool House for the cookery course in a stunning barn conversion. Philip's relaxed tuition style allowing you to do all of the prep and cooking really gives a sense of enjoyment and achievement and you get to eat an excellent lunch with trays of food to take home!
Highly recommended and will return for more, perhaps getting a taxi so we can enjoy a little more wine!
